"This gets more and more interesting, Akane," said Nabiki, watching her sister carefully. "Rei here is the child of a yuki-no-onna and her engagement to Ranma was offered in return for sparing our father's life after he stole something. What was it?"
"Food," supplied Rei in a soft voice. "Though this was before my time, of course, I was told of it. They made off with enough that the human part of the family's survival through the winter was threatened."
Soun sneezed. "We didn't know!"
Akane found those calm pink-red eyes staring directly into her own. Daring her?
"Hi, I'm Ranma's friend from before his training trip. My name is Maya Ibuki. You're Nabiki and Kasumi's sister, right?" Maya smiled up at the young lady.
Akane frowned. "Ranma isn't here."
"I understand that I missed him," said Maya. "I'm just catching up with Auntie Nodoka and Uncle Genma. I've got to get back to classes soon."
Akane wondered if she should tell this older girl just what a baka hentai jerk Ranma was.
