Ranma looked at her. "Aw, didja have to say that?"
Almost on cue, a bicycle bell chimed in the distance, and a few seconds later, the front door was opened and closed, footsteps were heard, and a cheerful "Nihao!" was heard. Ranma groaned as a head peeked into the room and Shampoo appeared. "Shampoo bring ramen for dinner. For everyone!" Another cheerful smile, and she plopped the delivery box on the table, waiting for some appreciation.
Nabiki stared. It was incredible. Almost like magic, her attitude had changed. What was it? "Um, Sssshampoo, tthhanksss for the food, but what'sss with the change in attitude?" Her speech was getting better. At least she didn't sound like she had a permanent head cold anymore.
Shampoo looked first at Nabiki, then Ukyo, Kodachi and lastly Ranma. She smiled again and motioned toward the food. "Eat first, then I tell." Turning to the other Tendos, Shampoo waved them over. "You too, must eat. Come have ramen. Is good for you, very tasty." Soun immediately stopped wailing, and smiled. "Well, that's very kind of you. Thank you, Shampoo. Come Akane, Kasumi. We don't want to refuse this kind generosity." And with that, he immediately dove in to the delivery box and grabbed the top bowl. Kasumi nodded, "Of course, father," and also sat down."
Shampoo smiled happily. "Good, Shampoo happy. Spatula girl, go fetch. Sit girl, sit. Eat ramen, make Shampoo happy." Ukyo blinked. Growling slightly at Shampoo, she padded over to the table. "I'm only doing this because I'm hungry, got that?" she told everyone.
Nabiki grinned at Ukyo's comment, then hissed at Kodachi, "Let'ssss sssit down too, 'Dacchi. Ssshe won't tell usss until we do anyway." Kodachi agreed and hopped over, "I think Youw wight. Wet us have some wamen." She seemed to be getting the hang of the hopping and not hitting herself in the chin with her ah, assets, though the bowl did slosh a bit as she carried it back to her chair.
Ranma looked at everyone eating and wondered why he wasn't doing it too, so quickly sat down, hoping that wherever his father was, he wouldn't realize that there was food. Hmmm...this chair is squishy. Also kind of furry. Ranma looked around with dread. His father had slid into his chair in panda form just as he had gotten there, and was currently eating his ramen. Cursing, Ranma slid to the next chair and grabbed another bowl.
Akane stood there, arms crossed, tapping her toe angrily. "Well, are you happy? Everyone's eating now. So tell us already."
Shampoo giggled. "Violent girl not eating." Akane popped a dumpling in her mouth and began to chew, glaring at the amazon. "Oh good, Shampoo happy now. All right, I show." She picked up a glass of water and poured it on her head. Everyone tensed, awaiting her change into a cat and Ranma's resulting flip-out, but instead, she became a large, lavender hen. There were facefaults all around.
"It very strange," Shampoo began. "One moment Shampoo was cat, then was big bird." She shrugged. "Don't know why, but want to make nest, for some reason."
"Yes, Shampoo lay several already."
"Wow, the size of the okonomiyaki I could make with that!"
