The Wrath of Wolves: Brianna Diggers School of Doggie Discipline [Episode 68214]

by Thrythlind

"Its been two days since we arrived and you've still accomplished nothing!" Inu-Yasha raged.

"Look, you investigated the site where we were attacked too," Brianna said. "You got the same thing we did, nothing."

Britanny walked in with a worried expression on her face.

"Still no word, huh?" Brianna asked nervously.

"No, Dani hasn't sent an answer back yet," Britanny said.

"Well that's good news, sort of," Brianna said. "If Brendan had her, you'd think he'd have used her to set up a trap for you already."

"I mentioned e-mail to Jetta once and she thought I was talking about a guy's name," Brit said. "Werewolves don't have the best handle on modern living."

"Whoa, that's saying a lot coming from you," Brianna said.

"Yeah, doesn't...HEY?!" Brit snapped protesting the implied comment.

"Will you sit down, lycanthrope?" Inu-Yasha demanded. "Whatever the situation, YOU'RE not got to be involved so just get out of the way!"

"Listen rover," Brit growled as she approached the half-demon. "I have an intolerance for arrogant little doggies that want to push me around, so shut up and get out of my face...BEFORE I STUFF IT IN!"

Inu-Yasha stood up growling.

"Listen you wench!" Inu-Yasha snapped. "If you think anybody is about to let you fight this thing, then you must have a load of cow dung between your ears."

"Why, you vulgar little..." Brittany growled, starting to roll back her sleeves.

"Would both of you SIT..."

*WHAM*

"...down?"

"Erg..." Inu-Yasha growled as sprawled over the floor.

"Uh, what just happened?" Brittany asked Brianna.

"I don't know," Brianna said. "All I did was say 'sit'..."

Inu-Yasha was smashed into the ground again...just as he was trying to sit up too.

Inu-Yasha growled as he noted the look in Brianna's eyes.

"Hmmm," Brianna said. "SIT!"

"Urk!" Inu-Yasha choked as the wave of power struck him.

"Wow!" Brittany said. "Let me try! Sit!" Nothing happened. "Sit! Sit! Sit!"

"Do you know how much it hurts when you do that?" Inu-Yasha asked as he sat cross-legged on the floor staring at Brittany angrily.

"You shouldn't say my daughters have shit for brains then," Julia noted.

"I don't get it, Mom," Brianna said. "All I do is say 'sit'..."

*WHAM*

"and he gets slammed into the pavement. It's not like I'm trying to cast a spell or anything, and the only things like this 'sit'..."

*WHAM*

"are Words of Power according to Dad, and those aren't even in an aura mage's list of spells! So why does he keep 'sit'ting..."

*WHAM*

"when I say 'sit'?" *WHAM*

"WOULD YOU QUIT SAYING THAT WORD?!" Inu-Yasha demanded.

"Which word?" Brianna asked.

"You know which word," Inu-Yasha accused.

"Why don't you say it then?" Brianna asked. "Don't tell me the magic triggers when you say 'sit'..."

*WHAM*

"to. Then how do you get by each day? I mean I must say 'sit'..."

*WHAM*

"more than twenty times a day!" Brianna said. "Like, just 'sit..."

*WHAM*

"it over there.' Or just 'sit..."

*WHAM*

"down.' Or how about "just sit..."

*WHAM*

"and take a load off. Or..."

"Brianna, I think that's enough," Julia noted with a smirk.

"Why me?" Inu-Yasha asked from his position as the puddle on the floor.

"Thank you, Ranma," Nabiki said, wrapping around the large stuffed koala the martial artist had gotten her.

"Hey, thank the Diggers, not me," Ranma said. "They lent me the money."

Nabiki sat on the bed and sighed as she stared at the floor. Her thoughts were obvious and Ranma wasn't nearly tactless to intrude on them.

"Why a koala?" she asked.

Okay, maybe her thoughts weren't so obvious.

"It was the biggest cutest thing I could find," Ranma said.

"Oh," Nabiki muttered.

Ranma took a deep breath and decided to risk a question.

"Nabiki," he said. "You gotta tell your family something."

"So you can go back home?" Nabiki asked accusingly.

"What?" Ranma gasped. "No! Look, I'm here until this bastard is done, got it? At least that long, and I'll stay if you want the help after that, too." Nabiki sighed in relief.

"Thank you, Ranma," she said. She stayed quiet again.

"But, I'm just worried about Akane and Kasumi," Ranma said. "They're worried about you...I don't feel right not telling them your alive."

"You know, I used to think the neko-ken was rather silly," she said. "I know better now. How do you stand it? Knowing that something can waltz into your head and take your place. Knowing that something can make you do things you'd never want to do. Make you...enjoy it?"

"I don't 'member much of what I do," Ranma answered. "And I try not to think about it. And I've had it for more than six years, Nabs."

The silence was heavy again, and long.

"I'll call them," Nabiki said. "But not now, it's too late at night now...later."

"Okay," Ranma said, trying unsuccessfully to hide the suspicion he had that she was trying to appease him without making definite promises. "Get some sleep, Nabiki, we're all right here if you need the help."

"Thanks," Nabiki said as she lay back on the bed and pulled the covers up over her large form and hugged the stuffed koala as she let herself go to sleep.

Ranma sighed as he watched her lie down and shook his head, anger again forming in his emotions.
