There had been some sort of evil. Michiru had been sure it was evil. Rei had received visions of danger and disaster.
They had gone to fight it and seen a tall figure in a trenchcoat and wide hat. Someone had attacked it.
The figure had turned and Sailor Mercury had looked up to see this ball of energy heading right for her.
Now she was here. Floating in darkness. Alone. More alone than she'd ever been.
Sailor Mercury! That's right! She was Sailor Mercury!
Or was she Ami Mizuno?
It was cold and it was dark and she was alone and she could feel herself drifting away bit by bit.
She tried to hold onto herself. She was... who was she again?
Maybe it would be better to just let herself drift off, drift away to nothing, let herself fade...
LIGHT!
The girl blinked and shook herself. No, she would not surrender to the cold darkness! There was light now! Bits of text showing in the darkness.
AMI OS Loaded...
Bootup completed.

Not understanding, Ami reached out as best she could.
Ranma looked at the screen, curious. There might be martial arts stuff on here, or at least some indication of who the owner was. That'd been a heck of a fight scene if the craters were any indication and it'd be nice to meet a martial artist without it being a fiancee or rival or death threats getting involved.
Hello?
Ranma blinked at the simple word popping up. He didn't know that much about computers so he wasn't sure it was supposed to pop up a little window like that and do this.
Hello? Is someone there?
Ranma wondered if this was how computers were supposed to operate. And why did he place a scared girl's voice with the text?
Hello? Please? I don't want to be alone anymore!
Ranma blinked at that and began typing, one finger applied after the other.
Hello/.?
Ranma winced, he wasn't no good with computers of course.
Hello! Please! I'm all alone! It's dark and it's cold!
Ranma frowned and slowly typed out a reply.
I'm Ranma Saotome. I don't know nothing about computers.
Ami stared at the comment, trying to make sense of it when her eyes tracked up to the top. AMI OS Loaded...
Hadn't that been the threat of Villuy of the Witches 5? Turn her into a artificial intelligence. But Villuy was dead, wasn't she?
Maybe it was just a trick? Or perhaps she was just communicating through a computer interface?
Concentrating, Ami sent a message the same way she had previously.
I can't see anything. Please describe what you see around you.
There was a pause before a reply appeared, letter by letter.
I'm on the roof of the Tendo house. I picked up this computer at some kinda fight scene. Is this what they call e-mail?
Ami reread the information above. It looked like whoever had found her was not computer literate.
My name is Ami. Is there something that looks like...
To Ami's surprise she opened a second window and began flashing images in it.
Yeah. Stop. Go back. More. More. More. That's it.
Licking her lips nervously, Ami focussed on the image window. Take the cord with the little slot. Hook it into the USB port.
Another window opened, focussing on a tray.
Again Ami focussed on the window. Hook the thing up like so.
The eyeball cam clicked into place, showing a puzzled looking (but fairly handsome) boy with a pigtail staring at something just below her line of sight.
I can see! Images! Light! Hey, he's cute!
Ami would have blushed if she were able. Instead she sent.
Sorry. I'm apparently trapped in here. It's so nice to actually see something.
The boy's face scrunched up in concentration as he one-finger typed his way through something hideously complicated.
Someone shrunk you and put you in a computer?
Ami winced and forced a reply.
No. I got mixed up in magic and transformed.
She could see the boy nod as if this made perfect sense to him, then typed out something.

The boy again turned his attention to the keyboard.
Cold water turn you into computer. Hot water back.
I don't think so. I think I'd just short out and die.
The boy winced, then got thoughtful.
Ami thought about it then sent a request.
Please take the camera and use it to look around where are you are.
The boy nodded and did that.
Ami felt her heart sink as she saw that she was apparently a nice blue-tinted laptop of some kind.
