If he'd simply gotten splashed or a brief dunking at Jusenkyo, it might have been that he would have gotten his pig curse mixed with something else.
Instead he'd been imbedded down at the bottom of a pool while things ran over him. By the time he'd crawled out, he had passed soaked and approached drowned himself.
Not only were there the springs that had been there prior to this chase scene, but a bunch of others had been added. Which would prove to be interesting as he was now free of the pig but not of Jusenkyo as he was now cursed by Spring Of Drowned:
