[Episode 68678] [Episode 68678]Nabiki was blinded by a flash of light that seemed to come from everywhere at once. When she finally managed to blink away the colored dots in her eyes, she realized that she was now clothed in the skimpy (not to say "scandalous") outfit she had seen on her reflection.
Crap! she thought. I'm apparently stuck in a computer adventure game, and whoever - or whatever - is controlling the game chose Sex Slave, of all things, as my character class. What kind of game offers that choice? A chill crept up her spine, as she realized just what kind of game this had to be. She had heard stories about the stuff that boys played on their consoles and computers...
The scroll of paper popped into existence once more, this time reading, "Choose character race:" Her reflection was back as well - but what a reflection it was!
The caption said "Catgirl", and that was exactly what she looked like. She had cat ears, a cat tail, and some other cat-like features - but before Nabiki could take in more details, the image changed. Now a dog-girl version of herself was panting back at Nabiki. *flip* And now a skunk.
The image went through perhaps a dozen different animal versions - lizardgirl, ratgirl, cowgirl, batgirl, and so on - before arriving at human forms, which came in many different colors and ethnic styles, not all of them found on planet Earth. After that it was fantasy races - elfgirl, dwarfgirl, hobbit, dryad, nymph, etc. - until the cycle finally stopped at the catgirl image again.
Nabiki tried influencing the changing of the images any way she could think of: gestures, touches, commands, telepathy (hey, it's worth a try), and just wishing really hard - but all of it proved futile. She simply had no say in what happened, and that was that.
After flipping back and forth through the list a few times, the selection finally settled on one race, which would determine Nabiki's physical form (and in some ways her behavior) for the duration of the game. It was...
