His unexpectedly direct and coarse suggestion, timed just as she had barely been introduced to the party of adventurers, alarmed Nabiki and caught her off guard. Nabiki completely failed to disguise her initial distaste. Her now exageratedly expressive eyes telegraphed her scorn. However, this signal of rejection was soon mixed and diluted by newfound involuntary reactions. Her bare nipples hardened once again as a surge of lust washed over Nabiki, even though she wasn't being physically stimulated. It wasn't nearly as strong as her reaction when the auctioneer handled her, but it wasn't something she could miss noticing. Nor was anyone observing her very likely miss it either. Especially if they looked into her eyes.
As Nabiki began to resist her new body's instincts to go along with this strong leader's indecent proposal, she was unexpectedly rescued by the female mage 'Ranma'. "None of us need any healing or recharging yet.", she announced in an irritated voice, glaring at the erstwhile leader. "We don't have enough money to be wasting it on a room either. We have a deadline to meet. We need to get some equipment and start on that quest we agreed to. Now lets get moving.", she said, preempting the leadership of the party and leading the way to the, "Newbie's Adventuring Emporium." down the street. Across the street from that was "Adventure Equipment, Ltd."
A quick browse through both stores proved the mage was only too correct about their finances. At the listed prices, they would have ended up ill-equipped indeed. The party picked out a set of absolute minimum gear. Nabiki caught the attention of the prorietor and began to exercise her negotiating skills. Nabiki was in her element, and began to enjoy it immensely. There was something freeing about being in a role-playing game after all. Back home, she'd considered twisting a salesman around her pinky with sex-appeal a few times, but never really dared. Here, she didn't mind trying it. Few realized it, but there were considerable hidden dangers associated with flirting and using sex-appeal in negotiations. Nabiki had enough textbook knowledge about that coupled with more than enough real negotiating experience, and avoided the many pitfalls.
In the end, Nabiki worked a minor miracle right there in plain sight as she struck a deal. Japanese symbols for '70 XP', flashed in front of her vision briefly, as she felt another stab of arousal. As she briefly glanced down at herself, she thought, 'At least this time it didn't show.' Her party was amazed at her negotiating skills, and congratulated her heartily. The mage noted that Nabiki could have given the real Nabiki a run for her money.
They ended up with three days of unpreserved rations, a modest knife for each of them, a couple unattractive shortswords, a shield(sporting an effectively if unattractively patched arrow-hole), a somewhat blood-stained leather cuirass, a pair of gloves, some rope, some spell components, an incomplete set of thieves tools, a minimal first-aid kit, and a half-tee shirt top, loin-cloth, and some worn but serviceable sandals for Nabiki. It wasn't much, but it was impressive considering how little money the party had left to offer.
The shopkeeper regained his senses, and offered the party a very healthy price for Nabiki's ownership.
