She was on a table in what appeared to be a hamster cage. The shadow of a candle covered her. She checked the bars. "Okay. This is the last time I follow one of Akane's plans."
Fluttering her little pixie wings until she could sit on the swing-bar, Ukyo looked out across the vast laboratory. "Now I've been kidnapped by giants. C'mon Ranma! You're supposed to rescue me!"
Ukyo stopped. Had she just flown to this perch? Yes. Slowly a hand came up and traced the tapering point of an ear.
"Oh my spats! They turned me into Tinkerbell!"
Shampoo was beginning to get the hang of this. Fly. Don't think about it, just fly. Let the body handle it. If you thought too much about what you were doing you ended up missing the beat or something and you fell. Falling was bad.
Shampoo was also winging her way into a halfling village because she had absolutely no idea what was going on at that point.
"The accused, one Akane of clan Tendo of the nation of Nerima. You stand accussed of attempted princess napping and wedding-icide, how do you plead?" asked the old elf wearing dark glasses behind the desk.
"I'm a Japanese citizen! I know my rights! I demand to see a lawyer! You're all a bunch of criminals! I'm just trying to rescue my sister! You have no right to hold her or me!" Akane declaimed.
"Is that 'guilty' or 'not guilty'?" asked the elf, attempting to peer through the thick glass.
"I demand a lawyer! I know my rights! You're not getting away with this!" Akane attempted to pull free from the literally stony grip of the bailiff. "Let go of me! You're not going to get away with this!"
The judge reached up and pulled his dark glasses off. "Now Akane of Tendo. If you'll just look this way."
"Wait till the others get here. You'll be sorry. You sister-nappers or wifestealers or..."
The judge kept his gaze directly on the accused. "Trust me, Akane of Tendo. As the presiding judge, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm actually going to help you."
Akane smiled and nodded. Sure she trusted him. He was a judge and he was going to help her.
"You seem to have some issues," said the judge. "You should relax. Yes, relax. Being all tense and angry and upset is harmful to the health. Let those tensions and aggravations go."
Akane nodded, even more relaxed and smiling even more brightly. Sure she realized she was stressing too much. She needed to relax more. All those tensions and nasty stuff just had to go bye-bye!
"So what do you think? She possessed or something?" asked the bailiff, careful not to look directly at the judge.
"No. I think Akane here was just overreacting. Still, she did violate several laws. We can't just let her go without some form of punishment," said the judge.
Akane nodded again. She had just been overreacting but she needed to be punished! She liked to be punished! She had been a bad girl.
"Work program?" asked the bailiff, ignoring the giggle from the prisoner. Not that he or the judge had any experience with people who had not grown up with magic and developed a resistance.
"Sounds good," agreed the judge. "Akane - we're going to give you some work to do because you have violated laws by plotting out a kidnapping and the assault of several guards. You will do the work without complaint and doing the work will make you feel happy and fulfilled. You will want to do your best on this job, to make up for your earlier lapse. You have been sentenced to two weeks work as a
