Invasion of the Pod People: A requiem for Tokyo Tower [Episode 70333]

by The Purple One

The drive to Tokyo Tower was without incident, unless one considers a trail of green ichor which were once unfortunate pedestrians succumbing to the CTTfPPB. As the Venusmobile reached the landmark, the heads of its passengers craned upwards, to look at the gaping hole in the observation desk. Dark lightning and fountains of green liquid occasionally escaped it, and the sounds of furious combat were heard all the way to the ground.

"I'm parking over there," Minako announced, moving to a handicapped parking space on the opposite side of the hole in the observation deck. "You know what they say -- a clean car is a happy car!"

Haruka made a show out of looking at the splotches of green adorning the Venusmobile, and then turned back towards the blonde, raising an eyebrow in question.

Blushing, Minako twiddled her thumbs. "That's different!" she announced, her blush worsening. "Those are like... badges of honor. The Car That Thirsts for Pod Person Blood earned those kills!"

"I think I'll go rescue my cute daughter now," Michiru said, stepping out of the car and not-quite-running inside the tower.

With a shrugs, Haruka and Hikaru followed her, the latter calling out to the aquamarine-haired girl, "Do you know where this Hotaru is held, Miss Neptune?"

"Hey, you could've at least closed the door," Minako grumbled, reaching for the handle on the passanger's door. Just as she managed to close it, the ground underneath the Venusmobile groaned, collapsing and sending the car and its sole inhabitant underground.

"Whoa!" Minako commented, shaking her head. She noticed that the glove compartment had opened again, and leaned over to close it, which saved her life as a bullet flew through the space her head had occupied mere moments prior.

"You've done well to discover our secret base," a female voice spoke from behind her, not sounding the least bit congratulating or having any other emotions. "Now, you must di--"

The rest of the pod person's threat would be lost forever, as Minako didn't panic and put the car in reverse, hitting the gas pedal. "Ah, that's better!" she exclaimed, stretching out. Not hearing any other impotent threats from pod people, she got out of the car, and looked around.

The area she found herself in was cirricular, and a grey cocoon occupied the center of the chamber, surrounded by alien machinery. Curious, Minako approached it, and started hitting buttons at random, occasionally pulling levers for diversity's sake. After three minutes of the abuse, the machine began coughing smoke. A minute later, a radio antenna rose from the console, a white handkerchief tied to it. Two more minutes, the display exploded in an impressive show of pyrotechnics. The cocoon itself caught fire, which quickly ate away at a section of it, showing Minako Sailor Saturn's sleeping face inside.

Minako didn't need further prodding, and her sword appeared in her arms, quickly laying waste to the rest of the cocoon. She banished it once more, to take Saturn's small form in her arms and move her to the passenger's seat of the car. Getting in herself, the blonde girl made sure to fasten both of their seatbelts, before eyeing a small red button hidden under the steering wheel. Her senses screamed at her that Setsuna had it installed there since she didn't want people to use it, which only made her want to press the button all the more.

Finally, Minako gave in to her desires, and pushed it. Almost immediately afterwards, a low humming began sounding from the Venusmobile's engine, and the car levitated, slowly rising out of the hole in the chamber's ceiling. Fishing out a pair of reflecting sunglasses that she kept in subspace for special occasions, Minako smiled widely. Apparently Setsuna has been a fellow Back to the Future fan! It fit, really, the Senshi of Love mused, what with Setsuna's post and her obsession with setting the future straight by asking for the younger selves of the beautiful heroes and heroines travel into the future to correct the mistakes they and their bratty kids would end up making.

Finding a nice spot to land, Minako was about to park the car there, when a screaming man dropped out of the sky at them, closing in with frightening speed. She reacted instantly, throwing a punch upwards on instincts as she herself yelled at the top of her lungs.

Opening her eyes, which she had closed from fright, Minako saw Jadeite's scowling face, and took in the way his stomach curled around her fist. As the Dark General's expression changed from a painful scowl to one of dawning terror, she followed his gaze, only to see his arms resting on Saturn's breasts. A very awake Silence Glaive-wielding Sailor Saturn, whose eyes were open wide and staring at Jadeite with horror.

"Kya!" Saturn exclaimed, dropping the glaive, which fell a dozen meters to imbed itself in the ground. Immediately, a large crack traveled through the ground, headed towards Tokyo Tower and splitting it in two neat parts.
