Ranma had said something to Akane (he wasn't sure what - he had been concentrating on something entirely different that had actually involved schoolwork) in response to a question.
Akane had taken whatever comment had been made... poorly. Akane had tried to hit Ranma. Ranma had dodged, as he hadn't been in panic mode or similarly frozen. He also responded with comments involving words like "uncute" and "tomboy" and "stupid" - not necessarily in that order. This had occurred in class, therefore Miss Hinako had started pulling out her coin and yelling about delinquents being quiet while she had a hangover.
Ranma went from dodging Akane's attacks while still trying to figure out what the heck this English problem was supposed to be, to run away from impending fight mode.
The class had been boring as hell and more confusing than usual (partly due to the aforementioned hangover) and so most of the class followed as Ranma ran + Akane tried to bash Ranma with her bookbag while protesting Hinako's attempts to drain her "battleaura" + Hinako tried to punish the delinquents + Hiroshi and Daisuke shouted out questions for details on why Miss Hinako had a hangover.
The Principal heard the ruckus and charged in with both electric shavers buzzing. The speed of the whole parade kicked up a notch in response, mainly because nobody really wanted to get shaved today.
Ryoga wandered in, saw the parade, and got involved in his usual fashion.
Shampoo came by as it was almost lunchtime and was promptly trampled by half the class. On seeing her bicycle crumpled up, she swore vengeance and gave chase.
Mousse declared vengeance as well (wanting to have something more in common with Shampoo) and began giving chase. The effects of flying knives, arrows, shuriken, throwing axes, and other weapons spurred the chase back into gear again.
Azusa Shiratori (nobody was sure why she was there as this wasn't her school) started giving chase because she had apparently decided that Mousse's glasses were named "Jean-Luc" and needed to be rescued.
Tatewaki Kuno had seen the odd procession and proclaimed it the Heaven's sign that he was to brandish his manly blade and smite the infidels. Nabiki responded that she doubted Kuno HAD a manly blade and would likely get laughed at if he tried to brandish it in public. Kuno responded by charging out the door declaring to Akane that he would show her his prowess with his blade. Class was dismissed and homework assignments tripled. LOTS of students declared the need for vengeance against Ranma Saotome.
Hikaru Gosunkugi looked up from his textbook and realized he was in the room all to himself. Vowing vengeance, he began making another voodoo doll.
Up the stairs.
Down the stairs.
Around the gym.
Around the supply shed.
Around the pool.
Splash! Except for Hiroshi and Daisuke who were "accidently" knocked in by Yuka and Sayuri.
Around the perimeter fence.
At which point Kosmos (aka KOS-MOS-02) landed on the clock tower and scanned the crowd.
Ranma Saotome was identified. The crowd after him was determined to be human. Shion had added something about "unnecessary killing of humans" being forbidden (Kosmos understood this had been something she'd found objectionable about the original KOS-MOS) - and so Kosmos merely looked over the crowd and noticed that the vast majority were unarmed and death threats were only being issued by a few members of that crowd. Mostly weapon wielders.
