With it, you could slice through stone as easily as moving a knife through soft butter. Against anything but rock and stone it was merely a very good sword that would never dull or chip.
And it belonged to Mr. Saotome? It was such an utter waste.
Finding several people (including three dark elves) looking at her, Kasumi decided to explain. "Tolkein wrote 'Lord Of The Rings' which had elves in it. Every so often I like to take a break from my usual reading and I enjoy Western fantasy novels. This is one of the swords from a set of novels by a man named Fred Saberhagen that dealt with twelve magical swords, each of which could do a different thing."
"So this might be used to unite the two houses?" Soun asked hopefully.
Kasumi shook her head once. "No. Stonecutter is able to cut through earth and rock - that's its sole power."
"Oh," said Soun. Try as he might he couldn't figure out how that could be used to unite the houses.
"(Once you've drawn the number of cards you announce, you can never be benefitted or harmed by that deck,)" explained Sanri to Kasumi in Elvish, waiting until Kasumi had translated before continuing. "(The problem is that there are cards that can cause your soul to become imprisoned, or to draw the attention of powerful enemies, or to utterly and completely destroy you.)"
Kasumi translated this for everyone else's benefit just as someone's hand darted in the open window to grab a card from the stack.
