These two people were of course, Ranma Saotome, and his, errr her father, Genma Saotome. They had most recently returned from the mysterious country of China after a run-in with some magical pools, and a wacko Amazon that wanted to kill them because Ranma beat her in a fight during a tournament and ate the food that was the prize (before she won the tournament of course).
Not paying any attention to all the people reactions to her father, Ranma looked up at the old walking throw-rug. After they had gotten back to Japan, instead of slowing down like Ranma thought her father would do, he seemed to even increase his speed. Obviously the panda had a destination in mind, so against that voice in the back of her head that was telling her no, Ranma decided to ask him. "Hey Pop, where the heck are we going?"
Stopping for a moment Genma reached behind his back to pull out a sign to shove in his disappointment of a son's face. Well, at least this way he would have a good retirement. [Foolish boy! We're going to meet your fiancée!]
Ranma blinked once, twice, trice, until finally she found just the right words to express her combined surprise and rage. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY, or uh, write?" Quickly grabbing the wood from her father Ranma re-read the writing, and prepared to smack the old fool on the head when she came face to face with another sign.
[Your fiancée Itchy Koo Ichinohei!] Ranma read of Genma's sign, there was more but as the panda used it to smack the redhead in the face and knock her out Ranma had no idea what it said.
As Ranma slumped over and went into unconsciousness thanks to the blow Genma quickly picked the girl up along with her bag and started down the street. Sure he would be a little later for meeting up with Soun, but as it was he and Ranma could use some new supplies, and money.
It was the perfect plan (according to his hungry stomach), that ninja clan he had engaged his son to a few years back would full up their bellies and borrow a few bucks to finance a 'training journey' what could go wrong?
