“Cookie!” The moist cream-colored delectable followed its brethren down the gullet of the post pubescent sugar fiend. The chocolate bits clung teasingly to the roof of the young man’s mouth. Coconut flakes lined his mouth, sugary granules frosting his upper lip in sucrose crystals. Savoring every sticky bite of the overly large chocolate chip delight his eyes flashed green before slowly returning back to the dull blue they usually were.
“Do you have to do that for every cookie you eat?” Alice glared at her male companion as another sigh escaped his sugar-glazed lips. His smile widened, several coconut flakes falling to the ground as he wiped his mouth clean on his sleeve.
“They’re so good. How can I resist?” Another cookie appeared in his hands. With a shout it met the same fate as its predecessor. Alice was about to be ill.
“Malik, that crap’s going make you sick you know that?”
“Cookie?” he asked slyly, handing her a bit of sugary frosty goodness. She looked at it for a long moment before shaking her head in disgust. Malik shrugged, the cookie about to follow its brethren.
Sadly, it was not to be.
A huge black portal opened in front of the two, blowing them off their feet and sending the confection to the dirty, dirty mall floor. Lightning shot randomly out of the void until something rather unlightningish suddenly fell out of it. With a ‘pop’ of displaced air the portal disappeared. Both kids looked at the red object that lay in the middle of the mall.
“Alice, is that what I think it is?” Malik asked, stunned.
“I… I think so, Malik.”
“Sweeeeeeet,” Malik whispered. Alice simply nodded.
