"Daddy!" barked Nabiki's voice "Don't you realise what that would mean?!"
"It would mean that you would get to keep whatever parts of your body that would be still viable."
"But that cost the most!"
"That is besides the point. My little girl deserves the best, and if that is what it costs then so be it."
"How do you expect to pay for it?!"
"I'm not sure at the moment, but if I have to mortgage the house, then that is what I will do."
Kasumi put a trembling hand to her mouth. "Our home has been in our family for generations..."
That made the Tendo Patriarch slump for a bit as he sighed. "I know, but this is your sister's life we are talking about. I can't take away anything from her."
"Just when I begin to think that I have you figured out," Cologne commented with a quiet chuckle, "you go and surprise me."
"It is not meant as a surprise. It is meant to give my poor daughter the best that I can."
Everyone just silently watched him for a moment, while:
