The little yellow cloud shot along and continued to ignore petty concerns like inertia.

There were those who knew Ranma personally and would never believe that Ranma Saotome would be capable of enjoying something not related directly to the martial arts.

"WHhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hahahahahahahahaha!"

That simple freedom, insanely high speed flight, and getting a chance to freely ignore some things that had been bothering him would have any kind of impact on him.

"Faster! Faster! Hahahahahahahaha! This is great!"

So the merger must have affected Ranma a great deal for such uncharacteristic behavior.

He didn't know that in some ways his troubles were just beginning.

Kasumi had been template-merged with Lunch. Now, whenever Kasumi sneezed, she would instantly become the Red Queen! At least until the next time she sneezed and turned back into Kasumi.

Ranma didn't know that Tatewaki Kuno had merged (sort of) with Pilaf! Now he was out to collect the Dragon Orbs, defeat the Monkey Sorcerer Boy, and rule the world! Bwahahahahaha!

He wouldn't know any of these yet. Because Mihoshi had used Dragonball (not Z or GT) as the source of Ranma's fusion factor, Ranma was destined to first encounter Bulma.

Bulma being the frequently cute-boy-crazy genius inventor who would be able to whip up the various goodies of Cappsule Corp given sufficient time.
