"I wonder what that means," said Akane, turning away from the task of punishing Ranma momentarily.
The fire burst into a pillar before the weaving fingers of Thrisse Webmistress (drow elf f, C18 head priestess of Lolth, hp 48, S 9, D 12, C 11, I 14, W 18, Ch 16; Chaotic Evil) as the power flowed thick through the air of the chambers.
Looking within the flames she saw a vision of a human girl such as might have come from far off Kara-Tur. Short of hair, with enormous (to an elf) breasts unfettered, a snarling look of rage on her face. That and a name.
"Akane Tendo! She is the one we seek before all others," said the headpriestess, tightening her fist to the point where her nails pierced her own flesh. "She is the central one whom the others depend on, they are her minions who work at her discretion. She seeks the destruction of all the drow!"
"She doesn't look that clever," said one of the lesser priestesses. "Just another human sow, and not a particularly attractive one at that."
"Dying is too good for her," vowed Thrisse. "I'll have to work something out."
"Hmph, I'll just draw again," said Akane, flipping over a picture of... "a firebird?"
FWOOM!
Flames surrounded Akane as she was reincarnated. The "gift" of the Star card was still in evidence, and she still resembled herself to some extent, yet it was obvious that instead of human, Akane was now a:
