"Well, it's never this quiet when Ranma's around," Nabiki mused as she sipped at the delicious tea that her elder sister made.
"Yes, but now it's rather boring without him," Kasumi said, with her calm demeanor still wrapped about her. Akane just growled quietly.
The three continued to sit at the table as the grandfather clock continued to swing it's pendulum and make its sounds.
"There's not going to be anymore expensive repairs to make," Nabiki countered.
Kasumi smiled at her sister as she set down her tea. "And no source of income for you." Nabiki silently swore at her sister's countering.
Akane's growling got even louder as the grandfather clock ticked away.
Nabiki looked up. "Since when did we have a grandfather clock?" she asked her elder sister.
"Oh, it's always been there," Kasumi assured. "You just couldn't hear it with all of the chaos that Ranma brought." Akane's growling got to a level that her sisters just could not ignore.
"... Kasumi?"
"Yes?"
"Why is Akane a dog?" Akane barked loudly.
"I have absolutely no idea," Kasumi said as she stood to collect the dishes, including Akane's new water bowl.
