"How did you get here?" asked TURK-38, putting the dismay it was feeling aside for the moment.
"I..." Ranma began. "Can I get something to drink. This is gonna take awhile."
Ranma explained that he'd run into a ditzy dimension-travelling genie named Mihoshi and given a wish to his fiancee rather than get yelled at. Promptly followed by him being yelled at by that fiancee and her wish that he go far far away.
During the explanation he had to go over his life and demonstrate the curse. He could tell that once the curse had been shown the machines got even more excited about something.
Once he was finished he tapped on the dashboard of TURK-38. "Okay, your turn. What happened to the people. The humans, I mean."
"We don't know," admitted TURK-38. "There was some massive shutdown that occurred simultaneously across all systems. A medical unit in Kethruin was the first to reactivate and begin the process of reactivation. However, the Masters were gone. There were no bodies, no signs of violence, the world had not been invaded as near as we could tell. There were some old wrecks and a few new craters, and a massive memory wipe of two days prior to the event, but no unit has yet advanced a theory which fits all the available facts."
"How come the sun's got that red tinge to it?" Ranma asked.
"One of the power sources developed a few thousand years ago was a direct solar tap. While passive itself, a group that opposed the scientific society utilizing that discovered a way to destabilize the process and accelerate the sun's aging. It is in the process of going to red dwarf," said TURK-38. "Latest estimates place full conversion to red dwarf status within the next 200 years."
"Uhm," said Ranma, losing interest when it failed to be something obvious like a robot uprising. "Any idea on how to get me back to my time?"
"Not yet, we're bringing up systems to discover if anyone has any information on subject 'time travel'. Some of those systems haven't been fully activated since the Masters vanished."
"Ah," said Ranma, thinking that sounded like a 'no.'
