It was no surprise at all to the English teacher when studies showed age to directly influence how complex a study course could be without causing undue stress and lack of comphrehension in students.
She lived it on a daily basis, after all. Were she asked, she'd explain baldly that the openness of mind children display and simple, direct thinking also shown were lost to the complexities and habitual set of mind gained over time as one matures. That's if she were a adult.
As Chibi, she'd just zark you, then tell you as a adult to watch "The Lion King" before strutting away.

She was dreaming. She was also aware of it. Hinako grinned at the.. wild dreamscape she had come up with this time. Elegant yet Vampire Hunter D-inspired castle, oddly livable mishmash of blasted plain and alien jungle, complete with caves and odd colored disks of light, casually dressed humanoid demons doing whatever.. this one was GREAT!
She smiled VERY happily as she was a adult in this one. Being a child/adult, her personal body chemistry was a mess a lot of the time, so odd dreams were part of the package, on a nightly basis.
"Hmmm, I wonder if I can get laid this time? They don't LOOK all nunnish.." Hinako mused this to herself idly, then blushed to the toes as the Doordemon (batwinged, red skin, many upturned small horns along the crown of the skull, otherwise looking like a wrestler in physique) said "I'm very flattered, Milady, but Milady wants to chat with you in the banquet hall." while opening the door.
Hinako was a bit mortified, but the demon just smiled, surprisingly charmingly despite the pointed teeth, and waved her on.
The odd mix of Elvish Modern and Succubus Slutpad decor was maintained inside the manse as well, leading Hinako to simply watch the lightly demonic staff as they kept it all in good condition, all without seeming to be all ecchi or prudish. (Wild) o . Was her thought on it all, especially the fact that she found her own way unerringly.
There was a blond girl at the table, and Hinako sat by her without hesitation, this was the girl she was here to chat with, obviously. She was oddish she supposed, what with her changing often from a 17-year-old Caucasian of what looked like Russian ancestry to either a classic demonlass, complete with bloodred skin, spiky slutarmor, and a spade-ended tail, or a demon-shaped form of living armor, seamless save for unblinking blue pupilless eyes. She always changed back, so Hinako didn't worry overtly.
"I guess you're wondering why you're here?" the girl asked Hinako with a very amused grin.
Hinako's raised eyebrow was all the answer needed, so the girl went on "I like this terrain, this version's a LOT better than I ever dreamt up. I think the folks here are gonna maintain it. Good job!"
That got her attention. "Umm, this is a dream, you know?"
The grin on the blond's face got even wider, and was accompanied by a giggle. "Yes and no, Hinako, but you *are* dreaming, or this would take only a moment. Thing is, Dreams can cover years in detail in but a moment real-time, and Limbo, even this spliced copy? Temporally unset. Time is imposed and implied here, not intrinsic. You are following me on this, right?" Hinako just looked puzzled. "Yes, though I shouldn't be. I have to ask, how do you know about me, if this isn't JUST a dream?"
The other one said "The same way you know about me instinctively. I'm a copy, and this realm is a copy of the realm the original me ruled, although it was spliced into your influence the moment our splicing-together began. In essence.. I'm becoming a part of you, as are my memories and talents." She seemed totally at peace with this, but a little surprised.
Hinako on the other hand was aghast, for about 2 seconds.. "NANI? But what on Ear--Oh. Okay, then, what do you figure Ranma did *this* time?" Hinako shrugged it off, since trashin herself simply did NOT appeal if that merger meant what she guessed it might. She also fell into Neriman Survival Mode, the protocol including a routine on figuring our Ranma's involvement so you can get out from under when the other shoe dropped.
"Cool your jets" the blonde suggested, as she and Hinako both were phasing into those demon-modes now, but again, always changing back, so no big deal. "I'm a sorceress, a damnsight better than the bunglers in Nerima to date, so when I felt this happening, ripping me into being alongside my original sword-formed soul, I took the opportunity to cast a few tracer spells."
This *really* got Hinako's attention.. "I'm getting a demon sorceress with a Sword connection spliced into me?" she said, thinking that she's either gonna dress up like a samurai and clobber Saotome or help him trash Tatewaki the next time she hears that damned 'dark sorceror' garbage.
Illyana (name known as the merger was ongoing) just replied "uh-huh, and it was done *to* Ranma, by a.. that's the ditziest djinni I have ever conceived of, much less sensed directly! I mean Barbara Eden's role got *nothing* on a Mihoshi!" Illyana had been turned on to Anime before it became a splash hit in America, mostly thanks to Kitty Pride. This included Tenchi Muyo!.
Hinako winced so hard you could *hear* it. "The Ultimate Ditz granting *wishes*? I'm assuming we're a by-product, then."
As Illyana started to flow gently into Hinako, she just nodded. "Yes, that about sums it up. Ranma was upposed to get changed/added to so he can solve his problems, and he got Jeannie spliced in. You realise this may not be the end of it?"
Before the scene faded, Hinako said to herself "Yeah, I suspect this is gonna get to be fun."
***************************
Hinako woke up the next next morning. She was adult, stacked as hell--and had a pure blond streak in her hair, ala Akari. She summoned her Soulsword, then thought about how to handle this latest, better change.
