Gato turned his towering figure around, the cry catching his attention.
“Wow, it’s him! It’s really him,” Malik said, awed. Alice backed away slowly, eyes still transfixed on the mecha.
“Calm down, Fanboy. I can see it just as well as you can.” The commotion had not gone without notice. All around, shoppers and mall-goers were appearing, all eyeing the strange visitor. Reactions varied from the oft excited chirping of children asking to play with the robot to the more ominous end of the world callers. All in all, the area was quickly taking on a circus quality.
Gato looked around. Everywhere his eyes fell people went silent, as though waiting to be called on. Finally, his gaze came to rest on the two in front of him, one dark skinned male and a light skinned female with rainbow hair. He approached the two slowly, his shadow falling over them.
“Um, hello?” Malik squeaked out. Gato paused.
“Your Silver Points. Give them to Gato,” his voice boomed. Another moment of silence passes.
“What?” Alice asked?
“Your Silver Points. Give them to Gato. Now.” He held out a huge hand. Alice idly noted that the hand could probably crush her in one squeeze.
“We don’t have any Silver Points,” Malik spoke up, but fell silent as Gato’s eyes fell on him once more.
“You lie. Gato’s sensors indicate a substantial amount of Silver Points on your person. All of your persons.” The last he directed at the assembled crowd.
“Gato knows you have Silver Points. Gato wishes to have those Silver Points,” Gato said patiently, as though talking to children. “It would wound Gato to have to break your puny fleshy bodies. Really it would. Gato shall not ask again.”
“But…but…” Malik sputtered. “We don’t have Silver Points!” Gato’s eyes flashed red. Without warning his stomach opened up, sending the two flying with a giant boxing glove.
“Gato SMASH!” As the two finally came to a stop in Thomson’s Sporting Goods, panicked screams and the sounds of a mecha rampaging easily audible, one thought echoed through each of their minds.
“Damn, that hurt.”
