Ranma frowned.
“Come on, we have to take her in, she’s obviously a good fighter and besides it seems she needs some help.” He looked down at the woman sprawled in front of him, and then back at Akane.
“But she tried to kill Dr. Tofu.” Akane reminded him.
“I know, I know; she just seems so… helpless; she probably attacked Tofu because she’s scared out of her wits… besides; he wasn’t hurt. Her martial arts are no match for ours… we’ll watch her and make sure she doesn’t do any more harm. I just want to get to the bottom of this mystery and find out where this woman came from; and more importantly how to get her back there!”
“Alright, but I’m not paying to feed her.” Akane said bluntly,
Ranma smiled. “That’s my Akane."
He couldn’t help but notice the unmistakable low growl emanating from Akane’s throat as he said that… Hmmm maybe she wasn’t so happy about this; but he felt deep down inside that it needed to be done and he knew that his home was the safest place in the whole town to put this wild warrior woman up. Besides… he wanted to get to the bottom of the events surrounding her arrival; and find out more about this ‘Morrowind’ of which she spoke. He assumed she was from the northern regions of China, he’d heard of some place up there called Morrowind or Morrongolia or something to that effect… She didn’t quite look Chinese but judging from the design of her attire; she seemed like a formidable melee fighter and probably one of mixed descents. As for the red eyes, perhaps that was one of the strange effects of her manner of arrival.
It didn’t take them long to move her; she was surprisingly light and the stretcher borrowed from Tofu’s clinic proved sufficient for Ranma and Akane to transport their strange new charge back to the Tendo household. Once there, they placed her on a futon in one of the spare rooms beside the main training room and made sure to lock the door. Not of course that that would do any good, as, if she really wanted to escape; she’d just punch her way through the shoji wall or the thin screen that formed the room’s door.
Ranma stood guard outside the room for a long time, arms folded, back to the wall; waiting for any sign of Velothesa’s revival. After a long time he could have sworn he heard a rustling in the room followed by the sound of:
