Hikaru's mother looked her ex-son straight in the eye and said: "Go to Ranma Saotome." Before Hikaru could respond, she continued, "I know you don't seem to like him, but you need to learn how to fend off the suitors you're sure to attract, and sooner or later you're going to have to do it with more than words.
"And until you can be sure of defending yourself, you're going to need protection. What place could be safer than the Tendo home?"
Both mother and 'daughter' knew, as did everyone in Nerima, that the Tendo property was the permanent residence of several top martial artists, and that others visited almost daily. Also, the high percentage of extremely attractive young females might lessen the consequences of Hikaru's new problem. Hikaru's mother was also aware of her crush on Akane Tendo.
"I guess you're right, mom," the new girl replied. She was thinking of not only Ranma's protection, but that of the self-proclaimed Pervert Destroyer. Neither of them, of course, were aware of Akane's new disposition.
"Besides," her mother mused, "Maybe you could get some some advice from them. Who could understand your predicament better than Ranma?"
"Alright," the newest insanely attractive, male-minded and female-bodied resident of Nerima acquiesced, "I'm convinced. I'll go throw myself at the mercy of the Tendos and Saotomes ...
