Lone Shark: A Change [Episode 76745]

by Thrythlind

Nabiki barely noticed the change until well after she'd been swimming underwater for a good ten minutes. It was that fact that drove her to take stock of her form and realize that she no longer bore a human form.

Nabiki circled frantically, wondering how this had occured. She didn't dare go close to the shore like this. She'd raise a panic and they might even try to kill her. But she didn't even know how or why she'd changed, much less how to turn back.

She cautiously circled to the surface and was relieved that she could still see the shore and wasn't lost, but it was a good deal away. She swam gingerly toward the shore, unwilling to get close quickly and risk what she had already considered.

As she swam her shark body about she frantically considered her human form, wondering and hoping that this was a dream of some sort. It certainly seemed dreamlike, especially as her body seemlessly shifted from the sleek and powerful form of the shark she'd become (she had no idea how large) into her old human body.

"It's all mental," she gasped in the pause of thought that came after.

A little experimenting proved the theory and, more confidentally, Nabiki swam back towards the shore as a shark until she reached close enough to turn back into human.

She got close enough that she was finally able to guesstimate her shark form's size. She wasn't huge, a mere six feet or so, but then again she was still a teenager. Besides, she preferred a sleek form.

She stepped onto the sand with a since of wonder and exhiliration as she looked back out at the see. That, once she'd gotten past the initial shock had been wonderful.
