[Episode 7762] [Episode 7762]Genma slapped his forehead watching first Ranma, and then Ginta get caught on the flagpole. He winced sympathetically for Ginta. That manoeuvre has probably cost Ginta his manliness for the day. Several days, if he was unlucky.
"Miki! And, you," Genma pointed at Miki and Meiko, "get those two out of there and bring them back inside. We have lost enough time. I have a class to corrupt teach! And take Ranma’s clothes with you."
As Miki and Meiko picked up Ranma’s clothes and left Genma turned back to watch his son and frowned. His son’s unhealthy obsession with magical girls has brought Ranma humiliation. Again. Such sadness he brings to his father’s heart. He had managed to raise Ranma into a fine man, but when it came to the magical girl stuff, Genma has failed, and failed utterly. Regardless of what Genma did, Ranma kept collecting mangas, t-shirts, underwear, socks, textbooks, pens, key chains, even the goddamn fucking hairpins!
Throwing away, burning or breaking that stuff did not help. Scolding, berating or calling him a girl didn’t help. Upping his training, wearing him out, or beating him at sparring didn’t help. Even starving didn’t help. At his wits end, Genma had finally asked Ranma why he kept collecting that stuff. Ranma’s reply was that magical girls existed for real and they fought for the good, for love, peace and justice. Martial artist duty was to help people who could not defend themselves and it was just like what magical girls were doing. And Ranma, as a martial artist, would do his best to try and help like magical girls did, even if he could never be as good as a magical girl, because magical girls were like angels, virginal, pristine and pure, and their love shined so strong they could defeat the bad people with it.
Genma had almost had an heart attack that time. Afterwards, he tried to get his son out of it, but Ranma would not budge. He still firmly believed in magical girls. Genma tried showing him that magical girls were fictional, like faeries, Santa Claus, youma, gender switching curses, World War II and Elvis. Ranma accepted Genma’s arguments and he understood those were fictional, but he remained firm in his resolve that magical girls were real.
Genma would have given it up, were it not for one thing. Ranma’s libido. The boy’s obsession with things pure and virginal put a clamp on Ranma’s libido and any sexual interest. The end result was that Ranma was a complete and total wuss when it comes to anything sexual.
