The Hidden Emperor of Jade had been sitting there for awhile now. He was bored. Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored...
Tilting to the right, Sabbo passed some wind, the ‘FRAAAAP’ of his mighty bowel movement echoing through his lair. “Hoo man... Last time I order out Taco Bell,” Sabbo muttered to himself.
Sabbo continued to sit. Boy, he was getting bored. “How long have I been sitting her again?” The Hidden Emperor questioned himself. He shrugged. He couldn’t remember. “Hmm, maybe I should go out for some fresh air,” Sabbo mumbled to himself.
However, before the Emperor could do anything, a cry of “Sabbo!” rang through the air. Lifting his head, Sabbo saw a man entering his chambers. With the yellow moon, orange star, blue diamond, and green clover designs on the man’s regal greenish-violet robes, Sabbo recognized the person immediately. “Ah, Master Ecko, leader of the Shadow Elves. What brings you here to my chambers this day?”
“Emperor Sabbo,” the Shadow Elf began. “A very important event has recently come to my attention.”
“Oh?” Sabbo asked with a raised eyebrow, which was obscured by the Mystic Mask he wore. “What is it this time? Do you have an idea of who will become Jade’s newest Armsmaster?” Sabbo shivered. “I’m not a fan of Armsmaster Viper, and I do not think that Weaponsmaster G’nolga would be that good a replacement for him.”
Shaking his head, the Shadow Elf answered, “I am sorry to say, Emperor Sabbo, but I have yet to find a suitable replacement for the ‘honorable’ Armsmaster Viper.”
“Darn,” Sabbo grumbled. “What about Tsunami’s daughter, you know... What’s her name?”
“Julia?” Ecko offered.
“Yeah, that’s the one, Julia!” Sabbo said. “What about her?”
Looking at Sabbo for a moment, Ecko finally admitted, “I’m not sure. She still has a way to go, but at this current time, I do not think she could do it. If you really want Viper out of power, you’ll have to back up the Dwarven Weaponsmaster, G’nolga.”
“Damn it!” Sabbo grumbled. “I so do NOT want her in that position of power.”
“You’re afraid she’ll abuse the title of Armsmaster?” Ecko asked.
“Nine hells no!” Sabbo snapped. “She isn’t a looker in the slightest!”
Resisting the urge to face-fault, Ecko looked at the Emperor seriously. “You’re joking, right?”
Sabbo shrugged nonchalantly. “Ah well... At least she’s the lesser of two evils,” sighing, Sabbo then said, “So, what was it you wanted to tell me.”
“Sir,” Ecko started seriously. “He has arrived.”
Sabbo raised an eyebrow. “Who?”
Resisting a groan, Ecko said, “The Magic Adept.”
With widened eyes, Sabbo asked, “You mean HIM!? The one that legend speaks can control the flow of the ether stream with his mind alone, no magical words of itty-bitty movements or hand gestures?”
Nodding his head, Ecko said, “The very same.”
“Excellent, EXCELLENT!” Sabbo said as he clapped his hands. “Oh this IS good news!” Smiling underneath his mask, Sabbo said, “Ecko! See what you can do about finding that boy. Get him the best teachers you can!”
Raising an eyebrow, Ecko asked, “I could allow him into the city to learn from my people, if you prefer.”
“Nah,” Sabbo said as he waved off the idea. “You’ll probably do with him what you did to Rhaoton! The Magic Adept is NOT to become a simple ‘errand boy’!”
Sweat-dropping, Ecko said, “Well, you should understand, we Shadow Elves are not able to travel on the surface of Jade, as we stand out to easily,” Ecko started, “Humans however-”
“Whatever!” Sabbo said. “I prefer you’d find him a good teacher, but at least make sure he’s all right. We NEED him alive, and we’ve got now clue as to how well he’ll adapt to Jade. Comprendé?”
Nodding his head, Ecko answered, “Understood.”
