"Well... You see..," began Genma.
"No, we don't see," growled Ranma.
The Saotome Patriarch gave a hollow laugh. "There is a perfectly good explination for this."
"Oh, there is, is there?" asked Akane.
"Of course there is..."
"So why don't you tell us," put in Nabiki.
"It was a long time ago and the night was forboding. Everywhere, I looked I was in fear for my life.." A bared katana rested on his throat. "Ulp."
"If you do not give us the truth instead of one of your lies, your life will be in danger," pronounced Nodoka.
"I was on a training trip with the boy after he got his curse and I got lost. Some guy was on the mountain and he offered to feed me if I engaged my daughter to the boy. It wasn't like I really had a daughter..."
Ranma rolled her eyes. "That's Pops for ya. Always thinkin' with his stomach."
Nodoka sheathed her sword and sighed. "That's true. Your father does have a rather circumspect way of decision making."
"There's one question that he still hasn't answered," commented Ukyo.
"What is that?"
"Who he engaged Ranchan to this time."
"That's a good question," said the Saotome Matriarch, "Perhaps you'd like to answer it, Dear"
Genma gave a strained smile. "It was:
"Grandpa?!" exclaimed Ryouga.
