In Akane's case, with great power came great irresponsibility!...
After draining Ranma of all her stored memories and intellect, Akane saw that Ranma was effectively a vegetable....
So she promptly broke her neck to put her out of her misery....
Onehanded....
---
Months later, after a string of unsolved murders in the Nerima area occured, Nabiki came to the conclusion that the murderer was right under her nose all the time....
It *must* be Akane....Most of the other Nerima 'irregulars' are dead leaving her as the only credible suspect.... thought the mercenary middle Tendo sister....
---
Akane was doing her school homework in her room when she heard the door open behind her. Nabiki entered the room and closed the door.
"Akane," called Nabiki hesitantly.
"Yes, Nabiki." replied Akane without turning around. She continued to do her homework as if Nabiki wasn't there.
"Did you kill Ranma?" asked Nabiki tentatively.
Akane paused her writing for but a moment before continuing. "Yes I did. Why do you ask?"
"So why haven't you turned yourself in to the authorities?" questioned Nabiki, a bit speechless.
"I thought you'd never ask, Nabiki. You realize your life is now forefit." replied Akane confidently, almost flippantly.
"And you know I've taken certain precautions to remain alive." retorted Nabiki, confident her skills would see her through the situation at hand.
Akane replied at length with malignant delight: "Of that I'm well aware, dear sister, thanks to Master Happosai and some blue haired computer nerd-chan from Juuban District. Putting down the old letch was truly an exquisite pleasure--I've personally made Nerima safe for ladies undergarments once again! Regrettably, I had to kill the nerd-chan to avoid a leak of sensitive information....However, your life is still forefit as I've said earlier...dear sister...."
Bug eyed, Nabiki gulped and silently left the room--cloaked in fear. She closed the door after she left....

In the Tendo kitchen, Akane helped Kasumi prepare breakfast....
"Mmm that miso soup smells good, Kasumi--just like mine does when I cook it--thanks to you." complimented Akane. Holding a spice shaker in one hand, she added copious amounts of its contents to the pot of miso soup bubbling and steaming on the stove.
"Why thank you, Akane. By the way, what was that you added to the miso?" asked the eldest Tendo daughter.
"Just a little something from South America to give the miso a little kick." quipped Akane.
"Oh, my, that sounds wonderful, Akane. Thank you." beamed Kasumi, pleased and content. Akane gave her eldest sister an odd smile. Oblivious as usual, Ane-Sama....

Seated at the dining table waiting for breakfast to be served, Soun Tendo was a haunted man....
He thought back to the day of the double seppuku ceremony he assisted with involving the Saotome patriarch and matriarch a few days after Ranma's funeral several months ago....
"Until next life, old friend." murmurred Genma, resplendent in the simple white finery of his seppuku attire. He was kneeling on a tatami mat before his friend Soun. A tanto rested on a folded white cloth on the mat in front of Genma. Standing over Genma was his identically dressed wife Nodaka. Holding her sword aloft at the ready, she was proud that her good-for-nothing husband would finally find honor in the wake of his failure to fufill the marriage contract to make Ranma 'a man among men'....
Silently, Soun watched Genma calmly pick up the tanto, stab it into his protuberant abdomen with a grimace, then sliced his belly open. As Genma's entrails gushed forth from the cut, Nodaka expertly swung her sword--partially beheading her husband in the grand tradition of the ancient ceremony of self-destruction. Blood geysered in fountaning jets from the severed arteries in the neck of Genma's corpse for several moments before it subsided and stopped. Silence filled the room. Blood was splattered everywhere....
Nodaka retrieved the tanto from her husband's corpse and turned to Soun--holding out her bloody sword to him. "Now it is time for me to join my husband and my son." she stated simply and with authority.
As if in a daze, Soun stood up, walked over to Nodaka, and took the sword from her. He watched her kneel next to her dead husband and poise the point of the tanto over her abdomen. "Ready?" she asked calmly.
Soun raised the sword over his head. "Ready." he replied numbly.
Nodaka swiftly stabbed herself and sliced herself open a moment later.
Soun automatically brought the sword edge down on Nodaka's neck--partialy beheaded the woman resulting in a replay of the blood and gore on a smaller scale than what he witnessed mere minutes earlier. When it was all over, before he left to clean up and return home, he placed the sword in front of the two bodies. As a symbolic afterthought, he joined the hands of the two corpses together, a grisly charicature of a man holding hands with his wife....
The Nerima Homicide Division found the slain couple like that hours later after Soun phoned them anonymously from a payphone on the far side of Tokyo. Though considered a suspect and questioned incessantly, Soun adamantly denied everything. Eventually, the case was deemed unsolved and filed away as such....
--
Soun ate his soup in a mechanical fashion without a word....
As did Kasumi but not in the precise, repetative manner of her father....
"Why aren't you eating your soup, Nabiki?" asked Akane.
"I'm not hungry. I'll get something later on the way to school. Don't let me stop you from diging in." replied Nabiki glumly from across the table.
"I insist. You wouldn't wan't to insult Kasumi's cooking, now would you." politely noted Akane ominously.
"Children, no fighting at the table when we're eating." chided Soun in an emotionaless monotone between spoonfulls of miso.
"Remember our converstion earlier?...Now is that time....You don't wan't me to spoil it for the others, do you?" informed Akane knowingly, glaring at Nabiki.
To Nabiki, everything clicked and came into sharp focus. Her father and elder sister were dead people breathing (for a little while longer). She then surmised the miso soup before her to be the culprit. Deducing that the miso was poisioned and not wanting Soun and Kasumi to see Akane murder her before they themselves died, she spooned up some miso from the bowl in front of her, held it to her lips and looked Akane right in the eyes: "For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee...." intoned Nabiki ominously, partially quoting an old, popular, science-fiction movie. She then gulped down the spoonful of miso and swallowed it.
She glared at her younger sister for several minutes in silence...
She then began to feel numb all over....
Breathing became increasingly difficult....
Then breathing became impossible....
As her heart pounded away in her chest, Nabiki saw Akane wave 'bye-bye' to her with a sickly sweet, insincere smile on her face as her field of vision irised to black....
"You won't be capable of even that." mused Akane haughtily, gazing at Nabiki's frozen, masklike visage....
As she lost consciousness, another partial quote from the same SF movie came to Nabiki's remembrance before her brain shut down from anoxia....
Revenge is a dish best served cold....
Time to make some noise.... mused Akane, rising from her chair at the table. She left her family lifeless and frozen in time like display case mannequins....
Later that day, throughout Nerima, the local TV news was playing....
"This is Channel 7 Action Shimbun. Yuko Hinemura reporting. Today, fire department and emergency personel were called to the scene of a natural gas explosion that destroyed the home and martial arts training center of longtime Nerima resident Soun Tendo around 9AM this morining. Initial reports from the scene indicate at least 3 people dead. However, the bodies were burned and badly mangled by the force of the blast--hindering identification of the dead by the coroner. Stay with Channel 7 as we keep you up to date throughouth the day with ongoing coverage of this devastating tragedy...."
---
Tired of 'easy pickings' to practice her Art on, Akane sought out Goutetsu, teacher of the Ansatsuken way of martial arts--a cold-blooded and murderously ruthless discipline. There was already one master of it at large in the world: a homicidal psychomaniac named Akuma. Akane's aim was to match and exceed Akuma's skills and thus become the undisputed queen of the way of the 'Dark Hado'....
