"Strap in," came the pilot's voice. "The volcano is firing surface to air missiles. Initiating evasive."
Ranma watched everyone rush and grab straps. He realized if he strapped himself in now he'd be in between Rei and Asuka, and practically brushing knees with Misato. "Uhm."
Which was when the pilot began putting the transport plane through manuevers that proved that a) he was insane, b) he had no problems with motion sickness, and c) if the plane was still in one piece it was darn near a miracle.
A shudder passed through the aircraft.
Ranma came aware that somewhere among all the tumbles, he'd ended up across the laps of Kiyone, Rei, and Asuka. "Uhm. Hi."
"I'll have to give the pilot a little extra for this," said Kiyone with a slight smile to show she was joking.
"That was fun, let's do it again," suggested Asuka.
"Let's not," groaned Ranma.
Rei merely blushed a little when she started staring at the section of Ranma in her lap.
The pilot shouted back at them. "No landing strip. I'm going to do a low pass and you can use the boat drop to get out at that point."
"That way they think they've driven you off and if they see anything, they'll think you jettisoned weight to get better speed." Kiyone nodded. "It might work. Okay everyone. There's a capsule in the back. We just get in, hang on the straps, and let gravity and our pilot do the rest."
