Ranko the Sorceress: New Past, New Future [Episode 8015]

by Foster the Imposter

Ranma had looked through a ton of clothing and came to the realization that A: Yes she did need a disguise and B: that she was not wearing a miniskirt or short shorts. After poking around she found something that just screamed out at her, it was so far out different from her normal clothing that no one would suspect it was really her, it covered up enough that she would be comfy in it, it was loose enough to allow mostly fast movement but not get too much in the way, and the cherry on top is that it was alluring enough to get her some free ice-cream! 'Score!' she thought as she pulled it out noting the fact that a doll came with it... maybe it'd be a good peace offering to Akane or Ukyo should the shit hit the fan.'' She mused as she walked to the change room.

She missed the slight snicker from the wizard when he saw her choice and went in to change. She kinda liked the look of it when she noted that half of it was like leather belts allowing her to adjust the decency and mobility around the legs. She grinned at this as she half consciously did up her hair in an elegant style before putting on the gown. One fourth silk, one forth lace and fur trim and half leather it fit beautifully accenting her figure in ways that would make a model green with envy. It was part gown, part kimono, part goth and part punk. She took one of her stockings from her battle doll as it held it up to her to help. She didn't find this unusual as the magic of the outfit had almost completely finished its job in rewriting her past.

After the ultimate weakness moxibustion scroll incident where Cologne did not find the final piece Ranma had despaired, it only got worse as Happosai came back later with two buckets of water, one normal cold and the other a near boiling spring of drowned girl water making it so hot water would transform her into a woman, or in other words destroy her male form. The pervert had been dead on. Weakened and permanently female Happosai went to town, or was about to when he was interrupted by a passing guy in a blue duster with a floppy leather hat that went up to a point and hid his face in shadow except two glowing yellow eyes.

A shout of "Bolt!" and Happosai was shaking and screaming in pain from the lightning bolt erupting from the man's hand. He had helped her up and offered her some food to help recover from the situation, one gigantic banana chocolate fudge sundae later and she had spilled it all on the strangely sympathetic yet still mostly hidden stranger. Then she asked the fateful question that put her where she was now.

"Why are you being so nice anyways?"

"Because I was as a child very weak, my Ki paths could barely keep me alive you could probably arm wrestle me to the ground even with this moxibustion effect." he said casually and she called him on that. One won arm wrestle later and she was in much better spirits.

"If you're so weak and ya can't use Ki then how'd ya zap the freak?" She asked somewhat cheerfully.

"Just a little Black Magic. It wasn't even a very powerful cast just a warning shot... why are you staring at me like that?" he asked as she got sparkles in her eyes. That was three weeks ago, she had learned how to channel both mana and Ki into a doll so that it would act as her fists and feet letting her have the time needed for more dangerous spells.

Her Sensei or rather Hlel was a very patient man who when she decided to leave gifted her with a tome that would instruct her on some of the more advanced spells and abilities of a Black Mage, apparently it was a Mage's duty to at least attempt to teach any who would listen, a martial artist's job was to protect, now as a Mage it was her job to teach. Even if they weren't interested in magic, she would make them think.

The book was also enspelled so that only she could read it without whatever spell that was on the page outright attacking the reader. Hlel called it a safety precaution.

"Alright my little friend." Ranko said stepping out of the store smartly looking like a semi-gothic beauty queen with an adorable doll. "Where to first? I'll wager everyone's been worried sick about me, although most are probably sick in the head about my absence." she asked calmly and the moggle doll pointed...
