Nabiki looked out of the window of the bedroom she had found herself in.
Outside, a wild storm was raging; the rain sheeting down so thickly that she couldn't see more than a metre.
Instead of wasting time staring at the rain, she decided to take a closer look at her surroundings.
Like the hall that she had seen earlier, the room seemed to be styled on an old European mansion. The dominant features were the single bed along one wall and the wardrobe and desk opposite it.
She was glad that she was now able to move again. Now that the game was in progress she appeared to be able to control her own movement instead of acting like a statue.
She walked over to the desk and looked through the drawers. There didn't appear to be anything useful in them, but the bookshelf above the desk was packed full of books. Reading the titles, she breathed a sigh of resignation; there didn't appear to be any Manga on the shelf, or many Japanese books at all for that matter, instead it appeared to be lined with such English titles as "Alice in Wonderland", "Pinnochio" and "Hansel and Gretal".
Shaking her head at the absence of a television or radio, she turned towards the door.
She had yet to try to leave the room, and was unsure as to whether the game would even let her do so. She was willing to admit to herself that she was a little afraid as to what she might find on the other side of the door, and had been trying to put off the decision to leave.
Taking a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and reached for the door handle.
