Darkness…
Silence…
This was all that Lina Inverse experienced as her body finished petrifying.
No sight. No sound. Nor even touch, taste or smell.
Nothing.
Just an empty, soundless void.
Lina wasn’t worried though. She was sure that the procedure would be over before long, and she could go back to her life.
The loss of senses had erased all forms of wooziness and pain, leaving her with a clear mind. She thought about what awaited her when she would be free. She would be taller. She would have posses a fuller bust. She would never have to worry about her femininity again.
These were the only thoughts that sustained her at the beginning of her long, lonely wait…

The black abyss was overwhelming.
Lina, unable to move, to do anything, could only think.
What would her friends say about her new appearance?
What would her family say?
What would Gourry say?
Gourry…
Will she ever see the big lug again? Ever talk to him? Tell him that she lo… she lo…
No!
Don’t think that! Don’t think that you won’t get out of here!
She was Lina Inverse! She would get through this!
At least, that’s what she hoped…

For Lina Inverse, Time had no meaning.
Had Gourry forgotten her? Had Stein purposefully left her here? Had the mirror been broken?
No, it couldn’t be…
How long had she been here? How long since she had been condemned to this hell?
Too long.
Far, far too long…
Crack!
!? Was that a… noise?
Crack!
Yes, it was noise. But what did it mean? Was the stone… breaking?
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Was this it? Would she finally be free?
Yes.
With the shattering sound akin to porcelain, Lina inverse was released. Overcome with a sudden bout of dizziness, she collapsed, naked and cold. Immediately, she was held and turned over. Looking into the face of the one holding her, all she saw in her haze was a shock of blonde hair.
“Gourry…”
And all faded to darkness...
