The best way to do that, he figured, was to try a little practice run in this Kalagiri Jungle.
Stepping into the thick woods, Ranma looked around. Nothing that he could see right off.
Odd forest paths leading off. Following one brought him to some kinda nesting site which had some kind of gemstone.
Pocketing it, he went back, picking one of the other really wide trails to follow.
Second trail was identical to the first except this stone was yellow to the red of the first stone. They were even cut the same.
Rustling told him the nest was not abandoned.
What he saw charging him was some kind of levitating porpoise that had a weird Sailor Moon hairstyle.
It charged, he grabbed ahold of the snout and back, twist and leap. Body slam it into the ground.
"Man. What a wimp," Ranma said after he noticed the monster wasn't moving. "So this is the big whoop-de-doo? Ya can't go adventuring without no monster cause there are wild monsters? Yeesh."
"Kreeegh!"
Ranma looked up to see a big lizard charging him. "That's a little better."
Legsweep. Roll. Bounce off the tree. Bounce off second tree. Both feet to the lizard's head.
Hmmm. He might be a bit rusty. Best to work that off before he got into a serious fight.
Yuri looked them over while Ranma waited impatiently. "Are you sure you want to sell these?"
"I gotta get boat passage somehow," pointed out Ranma.
"This is a STR stone," said Yuri, holding up the red stone. "This yellow one is a LIF stone. You use these while combining monsters to make the created one stronger in a particular value."
Ranma nodded and took another stone out of his pack. "What about this?"
"This? This I can buy," admitted Yuri.
Aboard a ship called the "Sea Dog" Ranma tried to figure out something. When Aura used those attacks, she pulled the energy like so and twisted it like this and then -
The wake abruptly splashed higher as Ranma sent a "Raycast" into it.
As some of the splash converted him into her again, Ranma growled something thoroughly unpleasant.
She only had to hit one sailor before the rest of them got the idea and left her alone.
Still, it was something to do while on this little trip. Might have to get some monster just to learn its attacks. Could come in handy.
