"uhmmmm. Now I Know Better," said Ranma, holding his head.
Nabiki considered that crawly sensation slowly moving up her spine. That couldn't have done what she thought it had done. Could it?
Ranma slowly raised his head and looked all around him. "I See. It Is All So Simple Now."
Akane considered belting Ranma on general principles and for scaring her like this. "What is?"
"Exactly," said Ranma.
Kasumi considered the faintly glowing aura, the golden eyes, the way that Ranma moved now - like he was just seeing everything for the first time. "Your wish was that you would know?"
"Yes," agreed Ranma. "Fascinating, Isn't It? If I May Make A Rough Comparison, It Is Rather Like Being Blind And Deaf And Working With An Old Atari Computer - And Then Having Those Restraints Removed While Someone Finishes Setting Up a Pentium 6 Fully Tricked Out DSL Computer With Plasma Screen And Quantum Phase Linkage To The Internet. So Much Is Clear To Me."
Nabiki started puzzling, then turned white. "Oh hell."
Kasumi smiled at Ranma. "That must be very nice."
"Yes, It Is," agreed Ranma.
Nabiki attempted to yank Akane off her feet and head for the hills while praying that Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind would prove accurate. She got about half a block when Akane regained enough control to (affectionately) slug her sister. "What are you doing?"
"Akane, I've seen Doctor Tofu's notes. Ranma was brain damaged a long time ago." Nabiki looked nervously back. "The memory lapses, the way his temper vanishes so quickly, inability to concentrate, no sex drive to speak of, his emotional immaturity."
"Yeah, so?" This was hardly news. Akane had known about this for awhile. Ranma was an idiot.
"If I've figured this out right, Ranma just reversed all of that. You saw the way he was looking at things. I think he knows," Nabiki kept looking nervously behind them.
"Knows what?"
"Everything."
Akane scowled. "What do you mean, 'everything'?"
"It'll probably take him a few minutes to adapt, but once he does, he'll remember everything anyone has ever done to him." Nabiki waved a hand in the general direction of their house. "With the ability to wish for anything he wants? He'll realize that you knew about 'P-chan' and he'll know that you know you can't cook or swim. He'll know who set him up with Tatewaki Kuno's fixation on the pigtailed girl. Who sold all those photos of his girl side. He'll know who manipulated him and why."
"It's Ranma, Nabiki," said Akane flatly. "He'll wimp out."
