Lamp Of Mihoshi: Set Genre=Giant Robot [Episode 83192]

by Kestral

Ranma had to leap off two other objects to get to it. Before long however, he stood atop the thing. The surface had elements of plastic or metal, but really didn't seem to fit either. At least in Ranma's limited experience.

It was a big fella though. He estimated it as being well over four stories high.

Ranma didn't know when he was or where.

In history there have been many instances of a peace-loving people who turn from the making of war in order to pursue less violent and more productive avenues of human existence. Collectively as a group they are known as 'victims', mainly due to the fact that such nations usually were either repeatedly raided or conquered by their less tranquil neighbors. Some were able to rely on powerful neighbors or alliances for defense, those that lacked such - became a footnote in history if remembered at all.

He was in a country that had defended itself from hostile neighbors until at last the citizens had cried out enough and sought to placate those neighbors with treaties and concessions. There would be no need for battle then.

One of those neighbors had seen the resources of that country and had signed the armistice. Then waited and struck when the defenses had been lowered.

They had also known of a backup, a project to build an ultimate war machine. They'd used agents within the country to stifle and delay the project as much as possible, and to turn public opinion against the whole idea. The other neighbors had turned a blind eye to the whole thing.

The project had been completed in secret even after funding had been cut by siphoning funds from other areas. The project had been officially shut down, but there remained a few who went against the orders of their superiors to complete the project.

Where it had slept for over fifty years, unable to do anything at all.

Until now.

Some enemy units had been left behind. One was trying to find the human who had apparently been wandering in this no trespassing zone.

With the sudden shudder through the ground, more than one came to partial life to see if this was a designated enemy/intruder.

"huh? HEY!" Ranma exclaimed as his feet were suddenly pulled into the surface of the mecha. He gulped air just before the rest of him followed.

There was a rushing sensation before he found himself in some concave area, with the light gradually changing to resemble some miniaturized version of the hangar he'd just been in.

Ranma tried to sit up and banged his head on the roof. "OW! Damn thing... ?!"

Ranma looked at his hands, which were that metal-plastic he'd seen earlier. It wasn't the hangar in miniature. It was the hangar, as seen from the scale of that giant robot!

"So how do I get the hangar open? And where's my packs?" Ranma asked.

Something in the vehicle around him seemed to pause before slowly moving forward with some hesitation.

Seeing the teeny tiny packs had fallen, Ranma reached out and plucked them up between two fingers. As if in response, a fold in the outer material of the robot appeared for him to tuck them in.

"That leaves them doors," said Ranma, eyeing them.
