Tuxedo Kamen had transformed into his prince form and anchoring himself to the mana of Earth took the energy that would have killed Sailor Moon. Because he was connected to the Earth's mana the bad guy's energy blast blew apart the seals sealing his power.
Mercury had scanned him and found that his body had changed to better handle the energy output. Mamoru had gained half a foot in height plus a lot of solid muscle. After assuring the Senshi he was fine he went back to his apartment.
