Ami's eyes shot open. She was lying on the couch? Without moving anything else she looked to the side where the yoma and her mother had the Mercury Computer open and were going over files?!
I wonder how many times she died? There's this time, in a fight with Beryl. There's this time, when her 'star seed' was harvested. Well, I withdraw my objection over the silly cheerleader costumes. Compared to what their opponents are wearing, it's not nearly as bad.
"While I am rather proud of her becoming a superhero and helping to save humanity, I'm rather distressed at the uniform and her tendency to get... how do I put this delicately?"
Beaten into the ground on a regular basis? Getting captured and tied up by tentacles and various supervillains?
"Well, yes, but I was trying to put it delicately," said Ami's mother. "I don't suppose you can help in that regard?"
Affirmative. Host is familiar with a large number of martial arts styles and strategies, though some should be discarded. I am currently rewriting Senshi transformation file, and adding a longer skirt. Would armor be acceptable?
"Can you display on the screen? Ah. Interesting. Looks fairly Western European in design."
Ami wondered if she should continue to play dead. As it was, she was getting quite curious.
"How many times has my daughter died?"
Now Ami lost all pretense of being fainted. She sat abruptly up to perceive that "oh dear."
"So good of you to rejoin us, Ami," said Ami's mother. "I believe you know Mrs Tsukino."
"Ah, hi," managed Ami.
"I've got the tea," said Grandfather Hino, coming in from the kitchen area.
"eep," managed Ami by way of greeting.
"How can she expect to rule a city, much less save the world, with grades like she's been getting?" Mrs Tsukino asked. Judging from the way she was talking to the ceiling she might have been asking for divine assistance in this.
BLAM! The door was kicked in.
"Evil yoma are not permitted to molest young girls in their own home! Wait a minute that didn't sound right..."
"Usagiii," said Mrs Tsukino, standing up and adopting a pose of Maternal Doom. She even started tapping one foot.
The Inner Senshi (currently in civilian guise except for masks they'd gotten along the way) had bunched up in the doorway went immediately to imitating a deer on the highway that has just discovered a whole lot of headlights heading their way.
"Rei. I am quite disappointed," said Grandfather Hino as he sat and sipped tea and managed to look somewhat dignified (he'd heard Doctor Mizuno was unattached and was still trying to make a good impression - because frankly she was HOT) while his granddaughter sputtered in the doorway.
Ami's mother turned to regard the teenagers.
"Ah heh," managed Usagi as the phrase "I AM SO DOOMED" echoed and reverberated in her head.
This little scene was maintained for a few seconds of escalating tension until:
