He ran, fear blinding him as the unearthly screams drove him on. The eerie glow pulsed behind him, something filling the air as he could almost feel the shadows darkening around him. All his young mind knew, was that he needed to get away, to flee, to escape as the most primal portion of his mind was driven into overdrive.
Lilith shivered softly as she nestled against the boy’s soul, the warmth so familiar as it pulsed with life and fear. She couldn’t help but smile as she let herself look through his eyes for a moment, watching the bushes and trees fly by as he moved with a remarkable speed and conditioning for one so young. A part of her almost giggled as she allowed herself a moment’s dalliance in day dreaming about just how this conditioning could grow and develop as the boy grew into a man. Her sister had certainly thought it was quite the distinct possibility.
For now however, she could feel her consciousness lulling into the background, exhausted by the violent separation from her “sister” and her struggles against her. An unseen smile formed on incorporeal lips as she drew herself snug to the warmth of the boy’s soul. Such potential in this one, such innocence, such strength he’d probably never fully tap into. It was the perfect place for her to recover herself, while her sister recovered herself.
It would make quite the merry game. Hidden in the boy, nudging him here and there, seeing what mischief she could put him. Savoring what chaos he could bring. Yes, it would be so much fun indeed.
As Lilith let her consciousness fade into dormancy, Ranma could feel himself slowly beginning to calm. The fear, adrenaline faded from his body as he continued to race on. He still wanted to make sure he was as far away from that lady as he could get. She’d seemed nice enough, but, those screams, that glow, a part of him had recognized he needed to run as fast as he could.
Suddenly though, he could feel thick, sweaty hands grabbing a hold of him, jerking him behind a tree as instinctively he tried to strike out at the figure. Those hands tightened on him, as he could hear a familiar whispered hiss in his ear, “Stop that you fool boy!”
“…Pops?” there was a hesitance as he turned his blue eyes back towards the white gi wearing man, his struggles ceasing as he slowly relaxed.
“Of course boy!” there was a scowl on those features before he glanced fearfully around the tree, “Is that demoness behind you?”
“Unno, she just started screaming and glowing and all kindsa scary things!” the child exclaimed as he looked up at his pops in fear, “I just ran!”
“That’s my boy! The Saotome secret technique never fails!” there was a hint of pride in the man’s voice before he again glanced fearfully back, “But, just to be sure, lets practice it some more.”
And with that, Genma slung his boy over his shoulder and raced off into the night, as a confused, angry and tired Morrigan was left to slowly recover as she pulled herself from the camp back home to Makai. Perhaps that Neko-ken training was the way to go after all. Having his soul eaten didn’t seem too terribly appealing.
