Hibiki Tokai was in a foul mood. He stormed angrily into his quarters aboard the Nirvana and locked the door behind him. He growled, shaking his closed fists, and screamed.
"That... That... THAT WOMAN! She's impossible!" Hibiki crashed on his bed and sighed "What does she think I am? Her plaything!?"
The source of his frustration and anger was none other than the loving (undoubtedly too much so) Dita Liebely. Always hanging around him, pestering him with her childish curiosity and 'Mister Alien' nonsense. Though the food she cooked for him was nice and good, the benefits were slowly being outweighed by the inconvenience of her general behaviour around him.
It wasn't as if he was the only man on the Nirvana. Couldn't she go bother Duero or Bart too? Even the women (at least a majority of them) found her attitude ridiculous at times.
Barging in on him while he was in the toilet. Trying to paint his beloved partner pink (What kind of color is pink anyway!?). Bothering him while he ate. Pulling tantrums whenever he combined with Meia or Jura in battle. The list went on and on...
But the most grating thing was that she apparently couldn't even remember his name. It was always Mister Alien this and Mister Alien that! Didn't she realize how demeaning that was? It reminded him too much of Tarak and all the times he had been called Third Class and not by his given name. Would she like it if he called her names like Miss Alien or Space Ditz, huh!?
Hibiki gazed at his cabin's ceiling, his expression softening. To be honest, Dita wasn't all that bad. You couldn't accuse her of being mean. Ignorant, childish, weird, obsessed but not mean. She didn't have an evil bone in her body. Back in the first days, she was the only woman willing to approach him without hesitation or preconceived notions. She had helped him on several occasions and had they not combined into a Vandread, they would all be space dust or harvested organs today.
However, now that the whole 'men and women living and working together' thing was in place and going stronger, he realized that there were other less annoying women on this ship he could pass time with. Maybe it was time for him to try reaching out to other people.
Still, trying to avoid Dita would be next to impossible but the less of her in his spare time, the better. She would try the shimmering eyes and tears trick on him but it won't work this time! He just had to find an occupation even she couldn't take him out of without repercussions.
The more he thought about this plan, the more he liked it. Now, he had to find something to keep him 'officially' busy during off hours. It would be surely tiring or bring its own shares of constraints but it was a small price to pay.
Besides, maybe he could have some kind of 'friendship' with one or more women like he had with Dita but with less headaches and more mutual respect.
After a few minutes of brainstorming, Hibiki had found the perfect plan!
