Fallen Through Time: New Arrival [Episode 84639]

by Disruptor

Rick Marshall was looking out from High Bluff when he saw a vortex of light appeared in the distance and something fell out from it. He turned and looked back into the cave.

"Will? Holly? I just saw something. We should investigate and see if we found a way home," Rick called.

"Coming Daddy," a girl's voice came back.

A girl in her early teens and a boy a few years older exited the cave. The trio soon left their cliff-side home and headed in the direction the middle moon set in.

"Dad? We're heading in the direction of the Heart," Will said.

"I think we had better pick up the pace before the clearing opens up," Rick said. "Will. Holly. Keep your eyes open for any long vines and gather them up on the run."

The Marshall family made their way to a clearing a few hours after sundown. Along the way, they had gathered a lot of long vines. They saw a shape lying in the middle of the clearing. Rick Marshall had his children tie the vines together to form a single vine. He then took the vine and folded it over and started twisting it to form a helix. The prepared vine rope was tied around the trunk of a large tree and Rick Marshall tied the other end around his waist. He patted himself down and nodded in satisfaction when he found his signal mirror.

"Hold on tight kids and if the Heart opens the clearing while I have the person, pull me back. If I don't have that person, I'll try to rescue him or her the same way I did last time."

His children nodded and Rick hurried to the prone figure and started pulling the person across the clearing. Rick breathed a sigh of relief when he pulled the person into the safety of the forest.

"That was nerve wracking," Rick muttered.

The clearing opened like a giant trap door showing a void with a giant red crystal hovering in the center of the void. Holly looked down and smiled as she heard a familiar roar.

"Hi Grumpy! Bye Grumpy!" Holly called.

The floor of the clearing closed. Only the absence of trees and loose rocks betrayed how dangerous this particular clearing was.

"No more Grumpy1" Will called. "It will be a little safer at High Bluff."

"You are wrong Will," Rick explained. "Some other predator will take Grumpy's place and it will probably be another Tyrannosaurs Rex. Maybe one of Grumpy's children. That young one with the scar across the eye looks to be in the lead for dominance. It will be safer for the next two months, but that's it. We'll hole up in the Heart's monitoring station until the morning. I don't' want to dodge Sleestak on the way back to High Bluff."

The Marshall's took the person they rescued to a strange structure near the Heart clearing and entered it.

"Will what color crystals did Enik use to heal me?" Rick asked his son.

"He used a pair of blue crystals. I think I can recall how he did it," Will replied.

Rick headed over to the corner of the room they were in and looked in some stone jars. He nodded as he reached into one of the pots and pulled out two blue crystals.

"It looks like this is where the Altrusians stored spare crystals to repair the Land," Rick said, as he handed Will the crystals.

Will placed the two crystals together and the blue light emitted from the crystals cast a glow over the person they had rescued. Will slowly ran the light down the length of the body and the light faded out after he had done so.

He handed the crystals back to his father who placed them on a glowing table that had no crystals on it. The figure moaned and slowly sat up. The Marshall's finally got a good look at the person they had rescued.

"Hello. My name is Rick Marshall and this is my son Will and my daughter Holly. Welcome to the Land of the Lost,"

The figure stared at Rick and muttered, "Land of the Lost?"

"This place. I'll explain it in more detail. What is your name?"

"My name is...."
