It wasn't recognized as a religion, and most of those of this grouping viewed religion as despicable and the followers as idiots - yet they had quite a lot in common with those very religious fanatics.
So it was with a even more fanatic than usual side group of a nature conservation group that Kiyone had innocently contacted. What she'd intended was for protesters carrying around signs, crowds yelling about abused pandas, maybe Genma ending up in a zoo as part of a panda breeding program.
Instead Nabiki was naked and in a cage due to the Guardians Of The Natural Order (GOTNO).
The Guardians watched the girl from a distance.
Rhea nodded at the sight. "Have you verified if the girl's story is true?"
Ermine nodded. "Hot water turned him into a portly human, cold water returned a panda."
"Excellent," said Rhea, her eyes lighting up. "Find out where this place is, then prepare one of the other cells. We'll hold him as a panda. It was a martial arts dojo so use the sort of cell we'd have for extremely dangerous animals."
"One splash and instead of a human, you have an animal? Once we find a way to lock the change, it will be a new era," rhapsodized Ermine. "Our poor overcrowded Mother Earth will be saved!"
Rhea nodded. "Exactly. Mother Earth herself must have given us this opportunity. Spread the word. We must find this sacred place quickly!"
Ranma looked around but nobody else was standing except his own group.
Well, Asuka looked like she was out of it.
"Hit her head on a rock, that's rotten luck," tsked Misato. "She shouldn't have tried using that hand cannon."
"Everyone reload now, you might not get the chance later," advised Kiyone. "They came out of that airlock arrangement over there."
"Airlock?" Misato looked it over. "Ugh. Hope that doesn't mean this island is submersible."
Ranma scratched his head. "It's what?"
"They can sink the island and use it as a submarine," translated Misato.
"Oh. That would be bad," agreed Ranma. "So let's get in there before they do that."
"The trees and plants are real, so they likely won't do it except in an emergency," noted Kiyone. "Rei, if you'll freeze the door while its open?"
Ranma watched before he realized that with the hinges coated in ice, someone couldn't lock the door behind them and trap them. He wondered if that sort of planning was typical for secret agent types and decided it probably was.
Ranma also decided that it was about time he led this expedition, and so was the first entering the tunnel and down the ladder. There he found:
