Shinji (henceforth referred to as Vegeta) decided that he should tell them who he was before the change. Therefore, he said, "Sorry about that. It's me, Shinji. Though for some reason, I'm starting to think of myself as some guy named Vegeta. Strange, huh?"
All the girls were surprised that this was Shinji. Misato summed up their feelings in two sentences: "You're Shinji? Or at least were?" At Vegeta's nod to the second question, she said, "Well, maybe your class changed your name. After all, I've wound up being Misato Croft, so maybe your new name is something like Vegeta Ikari, though I don't know where the name came from."
Asuka surprised all present by saying, "I can tell you that. It's from a couple of pre-Second Impact TV shows called Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT; GT's just a continuation of Z, though. Anyway, there's a race in them called Saiyans and Vegeta's their prince. Since his father's dead, I don't know why he didn't call himself the King of Saiyans, but I kinda like those shows as they are. I think Shinji's become a Saiyan, and judging from the name, I'd say his class is Saiyan Prince."
"Well, I think we should stop Gendo Ikari's attempt to turn humans into goo," one of the Rei's, which one only she was sure, proclaimed. "Let's go. I think we should bring Ikari-kun with us."
"I don't know," Vegeta said, "I've got a feeling that any group I'm part of will get into a lot of trouble, and I doubt you weaklings could handle it." Typical Vegeta bastardness.
Needless to say, the girls were mad. Asuka threw a couple of Fire 1 spells at Vegeta, not that he really cared (his clothes got a little charred, though). Misato grabbed her guns from off the floor, shot at him, and watched as he simply caught the bullets as she shot them. Seeing this, the girls decided to give up on attacking him, but Asuka still insisted that she go with him whether he liked it or not, saying, "If it's gonna be tougher around you, it just means that there're more opportunities to gain experience, or at least better experience for what we find."
At this Vegeta finally relented, but he decided to ask a question: "Before we leave, is this a dream? I just want to make sure."
"This isn't a dream," the girls chorused. This new information surprised Vegeta, but didn't make him freak like it would have before. As everyone left the room...
