Owlman used all the tricks he had learned to gather the information he needed. He scoured the computer networks for any useful scrap of data. With his expertise and superior technology, government databases were practically open to him. He also searched through the Internet even if it was unreliable.
A few hours later, he was ready to give a report to his allies.
Ultraman, the Crime Syndicate's official leader (in the 'Might makes Right' way), adressed Owlman "So what did you find out?" Thomas Wayne, jr./Owlman lacked superpowers but was the most resourceful of them all "Any credible opposition?"
Of course, Ultraman wasn't referring to normal humans in his last question. No police force or army could stop the Crime Syndicate, short of using weapons of mass destruction. In their native Earth, their only opponent had been the superhero Lex Luthor.
Thinking of that man made Ultraman's blood boil. They had been the masters of Earth III until Luthor brought these goody-two-shoes versions of themselves to help him. They had barely escaped using the interdimensional travelling device Luthor had created.
Now, they had found another Earth. One they would soon rule if the Crime Syndicate had anything to say about it.
"From my short research, I can tell you that there are two groups that could pose a threat to us, here in Japan"
"Go on..."
"First there are the Sailor Senshi. A group of ten girls with magical powers who routinely fight supernatural menaces in the Juuban ward of Tokyo. Each of them is named after a planet of the Solar System and have specialized elemental attacks" Owlman distributed printouts to his teammates "We've already encountered them when we arrived here"
"You mean THEY are the local heroes? Those little girls!?" snorted Super Woman "Pathetic! We've got our work cut out for us"
Power Ring pointed to a picture showing Sailor Moon in the arms of a masked guy in formal wear "Hey, who's the Arsene Lupin reject?"
"That would be Tuxedo Kamen, or Tuxedo Mask. He helps the senshi on occasion but mostly stays in the background" Other printouts were circulated "This is Sailor V. She had a brief crimefighting career in Tokyo and London before disappearing. She could still be out there though... The three girls in leather outfits are the Sailor Starlights"
Super Woman's eyes grew wide in surprise then disgust. The amazon actually growled "What kind of idiot screams out their attacks' names!? Especially when it's 'Star Gentle Uterus'!?! I'll have to kill them just for that!"
Johnny Quick chuckled. Super Woman's glare convinced him to drop it "You said ten, Owlman? They were only nine yesterday"
"Apparently, Sailor Chibi-Moon was absent. That would be the pink-haired kid"
"All right, now this is just wrong..." declared Power Ring "It was bad enough when they were only teenagers" He was a supervillain but he had some kind of standards. To beat up on a little girl? No, siree...
"Threat assessment?" demanded Ultraman.
"Frankly? We cleaned their clock but we had surprise on our side. They use magic and as such cannot be underestimated" Ultraman nodded. He positively hated magic in all its forms. It was one of the few things able to hurt him after all "I'd say they never fought enemies like us before. From what I've seen in the japanese government's databases, news networks and internet fansites, they pack some serious power. I'd advise caution for our next encounter"
"You mentioned a second group..." said Johnny Quick.
"Yes. Another potential problem is the high number of super-powered martial artists. There is an abnormal concentration of them in the Nerima ward of Tokyo" Once again printouts were given to each member of the Crime Syndicate "One good thing is that they're not team players. It takes a big menace to unite some of them long enough. Unfortunately, we qualify"
"What do you suggest then?"
"Divide and conquer. We take them out one after another. From what I've been able to learn, they all have glaring weaknesses we could exploit"
Power Ring coughed politely to catch the others' attention "Better be careful... My ring senses some powerful magic in that part of town"
"Interesting... This Ranma Saotome is rumored to be the most powerful of them all. He's actually credited with killing a god" Super Woman smirked evilly, the amazon had the blood of the gods running through her veins. Such pretentions rubbed her the wrong way "Maybe I should visit him and teach him his rightful place"
"Uh uh..." interjected Johnny Quick "My paper here tells me his fiancees regularly clobber him. He can't be that tough..." He blinked "Fiancees? As in plural!?"
"That's all the information I was able to gather in such a short time. Do we wait or do you have already a plan, fearless leader?" finished Owlman.
"Indeed, I have" answered Ultraman in a patronizing tone.
