The Shadowlands army was completely silent. There was no movement, and the usual cheers and cries of the blood crazed goblins were totally missing. Even the ogre were standing in place. All of their eyes were on Ranma.
On the was it was much the same. The last of the Shadowlands forces on the wall were destroyed by the crab. Like the goblins, they could only stand in awe of the amount of destruction that Ranma had caused.
Seeing the total lack of motion, Ranma decided to try something. Slowly he walked out of the circle to what remained of the center of the Shadowlands’ line.
He winced with disgust as he felt the gore covered Earth squish over his feet, and the blood slowly soaked through to his feet… it’s times like this he’d kill for a good pair of Unicorn leather boots.
When he reached the line he gave it a looked over. He was searching for the best equipped goblin, the commander of the unit. After a moment, he found it.
The goblin was dressed in a far to large suit of salvaged armor. Crab armor. He was wielding a daisho. A Crab daisho. This made Ranma’s blood boil. He fought back the need to strike the little monster down. That would be counter productive.
Whit a smile, Ranma walked up to the beast, and looked down into its eyes. Fear. He saw the most pure unmitigated fear imaginable in its eyes. It was as if the small green abomination was looking into the eyes of death himself. It was not far from the truth.
Ranma smiled predatorily and bent over to look the green skin dead in the eyes at level. The goblin was too terrified to act. It just stood in place, unmoving.
Ranma’s nose was suddenly assaulted with a vile new scent as the creature soiled its self.
Ranma’s smiled widened, and he said, “Boo!”
The goblin screamed and ran in abject terror. Like a shockwave it spread though the army. First the goblins squad, then it’s unit, then regiment, and it went on as all of the army was screaming and running, their shock galvanized into terror.
Only a hand full of the most thick headed ogre and lesser Oni remained, and soon even they turned and ran, not wanting to be alone against the legions of the Crab.
The wall exploded with a resounding cheer. The thousands of crab bushi on the wall were crying his name.
So this is what Belldandy meant when she spoke of the advantages of being an epic hero. With a smile on his face, Ranma returned to the wall, victorious.
This smile quickly vanished when he saw a single Unicorn battle maiden rush past him. It was Moto Akanyo. He remembered her being exactly like Akane. She looked like her, was just as brash, just as fool hearty, and it looked like she had the same habit of running head first into no win situations.
With a scowl on his face, he though about what to do. Should he stop her, or should he let her go and surely die.
With a sigh, he decided to...
