Still, she managed to brush both concerns aside, and stretched luxuriously, her wings fanning out as best they could. It felt wonderful, and she was simply to be there in this place, as she belonged there. Besides, if Ranma tried to do some of the things that she had been dreaming about, she certainly would not argue with him.
So it was with a simple joy that she got up, and got ready to embrace the day.
Just before she saw what time it was.
"Oh my!" she exclaimed, putting a hand to her mouth, "I must have overslept! I really must hurry if I am to make Master and the others breakfast!"
Cleaning herself up hurriedly, she practically floated to the kitchen on a happy high.
"Someone seems to be in a good mood this morning," Nodoka commented as she flew around the Tendo angel.
Kasumi blushed. "Oh yes. Now I have so many sisters, and a Master to care for us all."
"'Master?'"
"Oh yes. He is so big and tall... And so manly!"
"Ah... you're talking about Ranma."
"Of course. It's so nice to belong to such a nice young man," the winged girl said as she changed the food in the hamsters' cage.
"That I can understand. But aren't you engaged to him?"
That brought a frown to the angel's face. "Why no. I'm his pet, see?"
"A collar? I wonder how that happened. Though I suppose that it means that my son won't be marrying you..."
[But what about our plans to unite the families?!] Genma's sign demanded. [If she's his pet, how can we do that?!]
"Be quiet Husband," the pixie ordered, "Or I'll use some special dusts on you."
[I'll be good...]
"Still, he has the beginnings of a point. If my son doesn't have a girl to marry, then how can we continue on the lines like that? There are no more Tendos to engage him to."
"That's true..," Kasumi began, but stopped with a frown. "Actually, it's not."
"It's not?"
"You see, there are two girls, Natsume and Kurumi, who are both adopted Tendos that we met a while back. They were martial artists who thought Soun Tendo was their father. But they were nice girls who were very pretty, and left on good terms."
"Hmmm... Do they have any sort of engagements?" Nodoka asked.
"Not that I remember. Why?"
"Then they just might be the perfect solution. Since they're Tendos, and get along with you all so well, then we may be able to engage one to my son."
"Oh! Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
"Indeed, it would be," the pixie agreed. "Come. While you prepare breakfast, we can talk about this."
Neither saw the dance of joy one hamster was doing while the other sat in sniffing back the remainder of his tears, while:
