At least she knew where Ranma was, and whatever he was doing, the girl involved WASN'T her sister. So she would just have to grit her teeth against the possibilities of Ranma being perverted and rush to save her sister.
The fact that this delayed the chance that her belief that Ranma was not dead would be disproved was not even considered for a moment.
At least, not consciously.
And so, she took off on a mad dash for the Tendo dojo, going by shortcuts that the martial arts drama club didn't even suspect existed. Which is how she came to the dojo well ahead of them.
"Kasumi!" Akane shouted, finding her sister alone in the kitchen morosely staring at the preparations for dinner. "It's terrible..."
"Yes, I know," Kasumi said sadly. "He's gone."
"You mean," Akane said hesitantly. "I'm too late?"
"Too..." Kasumi blinked. "Akane, it was all your fault!"
Akane flinched at the accusation, indeed, she had been too slow to defend her sister's honor.
"But, I didn't mean to..." Akane said nervously.
"Please, Akane," Kasumi said. "This has been a terrible day, just...leave me alone. Dinner will be a little late."
"Oh...all right," Akane murmured, backing out of the kitchen meekly until she came to yard and, growling determinedly. "But don't worry, Kasumi, I'll get the pervert!"
