How am I going to explain this? Nabiki thought, staring at the remains of the TV. She'd been trying to choke down Akane's cooking when a piece of pork had gotten stuck in her throat. She managed to cough it back up, but in the process, she had released a jet of ice from her hand. Said ice had not only destroyed the TV screen, but had frozen the wires solid.
"You too, Nabiki?"
Nabiki glanced over at Akane. "What do you mean, me too?"
Akane responded by holding out her hand. A small, crackling flame appeared over her palm. "I found out about this only a couple of days ago. It seems the three of us are mutants."
Mutants? Us? That actually makes some sense. "Does Dad know?"
"I haven't told him, but I think he suspects something, at least."
Something occurred to Nabiki. "Wait, you said three. Does that mean Kasumi...?"
"Yes, she's a mutant too. Apparently she..."
"I always knew she was angelic," Nabiki quipped.
