Lamp Of Mihoshi: Aramar - Sadie Hawkins Race [Episode 87921]

by Kestral

Delphins Amazons are physically the result of human genetic engineering trying to develop an ideal society based on a popular novel of the time dealing with a matriarchal society, and falling short of ideal. Due to lingering effects of a war, the males tend to be born in less than one in forty of the births. Eventually it may return to 1/10 or 1/20, but it is a long road away if it comes to pass.

Unless a guy PROVES that he is quite capable himself, they will coddle males and generally act like he can't do anything on his own and needs to be protected. This irritates the hell out of dwarves and other races, as well as the few males of their species who are trying to make a name for themselves.

Another major factor of the Delphins is that they have put together their culture based on bits and pieces of the past they've recovered. Sometimes with ludicrous effects, particularly if you are familiar with the ancient past. There's one House of the Delphins that seems to have mainly been inspired by "beach bunny" movies and the like.

The most annoying fragment they've seized on and made part of their culture is the "Sadie Hawkins Race" which was originally from a series called "Lil' Abner" but which they've made their own. If an unmarried male of some compatible race, gods help you if you're human - that makes you exotic and desirable AND gives you a reputation as a sexual dynamo - gets caught up in a Sadie Hawkins Race... well your best advice is to let yourself be caught by someone nice. The whole point of these races is for the unattached females to catch a husband and some of those who have attended these races for years are getting kind of desperate.

Ranma wasn't sure what was going on. Here he was brought forward to some kind of race. Well, that was fairly understandable at least.

The first thing he noticed was that the guys at the starting line were all guys about his own age. The audience, however, was all girls. Ages ranged from very young to about his mom's age.

"What kinda race is this?" Ranma asked one of the other runners as he failed to notice an end tape or something. Not a sprint or something like that, and the path led straight out of the village.

The guy with the pointed ears looked at him strangely. "It's the Amazons' Sadie Hawkins Race."

"So what are we... Why are ya staring at me like that?"

"TOLTIIR'S FURRY BALLS! YOU'RE HUMAN?!"

"Hah?!" Ranma looked around but everyone had gone silent and was now staring at him.

"Well, now," said a woman in chainmail who was practically drooling, "I wonder if humans are as the legends portray. Almost gods of sexual pleasure and stamina, with powers and abilities beyond mortal men."

"He looks... adequate," said an elfgirl, her cheeks flushed.

"You're from the past, aren't you?" the elf boy asked.

"Yeah..." said Ranma, wondering if that genie had really stuck him in a problem.

"These women are Delphins Amazons. Oh, and a few elves and other races who participate in this ritual they found a few decades ago and adopted. All of us runners get a five minute headstart. Any of these women who catch us and bring us back across the finish line - they marry the ones they catch."

"Oh, I see," said Ranma. "I thought it was going to be something like... WHAT?!

BLAM! went a starting gun.

Ranma looked wildly around as the guys disappeared down the road in a cloud of dust.

He stood there for few moments, considering the look in the eyes of a lot of these gals. Some looked a lot like girls he'd seen on the covers of magazines. Some were elves. Some girls looked kinda furry. A couple gals had wings. Hmmm. Wait a minute.

Five minute head start?! MARRIED?!

ZOOOOOOM! went Ranma as he began running down the road.

"Three minutes to go," called out an Amazon as Ranma left the gates to the city.

Ranma -
