A Cat's Yarn - A Tournament of Fighters: Inside the lair of the Supreme El Cheapo (aka Igniz) [Episode 88014]

by Yasanagi

The room's only source of light was the TV monitor that was on. It presently showed video clips of the King of Fighters 2000 tournament that was held by the Zero clone.

"ASOBI WA OWARI DA!! NAKE, SAKEBE, SOSHITE...SHINE!!!"

'Iori Yagami. Too bad his Orochi blood could not make him a suitable subject for cloning purposes. It would have been quite interesting.' Igniz tapped a button to proceed to the next clip. He had to be sure that all his data on the combatants was up to date.

"Sir?"

"Yes, Zero?" The white haired man stepped out with his lion, Grugan and another figure.

"All the invitations have been sent out to the targeted fighters."

"Good. How has the Krizalid clone turned out?"

The figure behind Zero turned out to be Krizalid with little free will. "Quite well. He will be useful when I test the KOF champions myself. Grugan and Ron are also ready to go."

"Will your strikers be sufficient enough for you? Perhaps the tournament should be postponed for a little while so that your battle suit can be upgraded to the level that the clone Zero had."

"It is not necessary, sir. I will simply have to readjust my strategy not to include the minor Dark Arts moves. I still have the major Dark Art move, Hakura Messhou, programmed in the suit."

"Very well. But be cautious. Good subordinates are hard to find."

Zero chuckled. "You have my word, sir."

That seemed to satisfy Igniz. "Anything else?"

"There is one more matter that I thought you may want to be informed of. At approximately 9:37 PM yesterday evening, there was a brawl between an unknown warrior and Ryuji Yamazaki. Yamazaki was defeated within 4.7 seconds after rushing his opponent."

It took quite a bit to surprise the high authority of NESTS. The information that Zero gave to him fulfilled that criteria quite nicely. "Ryuji Yamazaki, one of the Orochi Hakkeshu, defeated within 4.7 seconds?"

"Well, the actual amount of time that elapsed in the battle is unknown but from the rumours circulating, the young warrior took no longer than ten seconds to defeat the criminal."

Igniz frowned. Now he had to deal with an unknown variable. "I want every single source to find out everything they can about the warrior who defeated Yamazaki so easily. If he does enter the King of Fighters tournament, then I will need as much data as possible to be prepared for him, should he make it through the tournament and past you."

"Yes, sir."

Close by, a concealed Hizoku warrior had listened to their entire conversation. Ron had heard of the strength that comes with an Orochi Hakkeshu. For someone to defeat a Hakkeshu that quickly, he must have extraordinary power.

'Can this power rival that of the Dragon Spirit? If so, then the scenario will have to be revised.' With that in mind, he vanished from his hiding spot.
