Susan sat in the cafeteria of the hospital where she and the other senshi, rather ex-senshi, had been taken. They had all collapsed when the changes came through, and had all been rushed to this hospital. She sighed as she observed the one time senshi from across the room and going over the facts she had learned of this new reality; the glares she received from them told her that it would be a long time before she'd be welcomed by any of them again.
John Wild Horse, the former Ranma, was now a physical education teacher at the local high school. At one time, John had been an Olympic-class gymnast, and his build and movements showed that he hadn't let himself go. He was no martial artist however; John had had little to no formal combat training of any kind.
He was currently comforting Bunny Sweet, the girl she had once recognized as Princess Usagi Chiba. Bunny was a high school student apparently, a cheerleader given the outfit she currently had on, and from what Susan could tell a very popular student at that. The knowledge of what exactly she had attempted to do as Sailor Pluto had apparently hit Bunny the hardest as every time she even looked Susan's way, she glared with hatred and loathing. That hurt a lot; she had once been very fond of 'Little Lady'.
The one time Haruka wasn't much better. Now she was Harley Alexander, a police officer and helicopter pilot, and most decidedly of the male gender. Everyone had lost something in the change, but Haruka seemed to be the only one who had lost her gender as well.
Michiru, now the raven haired Myra Farmer, was attempting to neutralize much of Harley's anger though. Apparently, Myra was a reclusive artist and songwriter, making enough to eke out a comfortable life, if not the relaxed wealthy one she'd had before. Myra, when she glanced at Susan, always did so with a look of utter distain as though her one time friend wasn't even worth her time any more.
Heather Santos, the former Hotaru, was the only one at that table who seemed to be able to look at her without hatred or anger. But then, Heather had had a vastly different life here, having never suffered the weight of Mistress Nine, nor the burden of the Silence Glaive. She, from what Susan had overheard, now had a loving family with a couple of siblings and even few real friends. Even if Heather didn't hate her, she quite obviously would have no desire returning to her former life.
The former inner senshi sat at a different table, chatting and trying to re-forge the bonds of friendship that had held them together before. Bubbly Minako was now Melody Wolfe, a struggling actress and model. Ami was the sable haired Doctor Mary Jensen, an emergency room doctor here at the hospital. Mamoru had become Mark Hughes, a chemistry professor at UCLA. Pastor Rachelle Bray of a small Methodist church in the area had once been Rei while Michele Allison, restaurateur, was once Makoto.
Whereas Heather was her only friend among the Outers, if by 'friend' you meant someone who didn't hate the person she had been, Usagi, or rather Crystal Hall now, was her only friend among the inners. Apparently, whatever had happened had shifted Usagi's family into this new reality as well, probably thanks to now non-existent Silver Crystal. Now a college student studying journalism and editor of the college newspaper, she was just happy all of her friends were still alive and together.
Just getting the former senshi to not hate her was obviously going to take a lot of work.
She turned away from her one-time friends and allies as someone else entered the room.
And nearly choked when she saw what it was: a dark elf, as though pulled straight from one of those fantasy novels. She blinked, rubbed her eyes, and looked again, frowning. Two images battled in her mind as she watched the woman, some sort of councilor by the looks of it. One, the view she got from her new identity, saw a slender, dark-skinned woman, perfectly human, even though she had bleached her hair white. The other, the view provided by her long years of experience as Sailor Pluto, saw the ebony black skin, red eyes, and pointed ears that identified the woman as a dark elf.
None of the others seemed to react to the woman, beyond Mary exchanging some friendly greetings.
On top of everything else, was she going crazy as well?
