Where Ranma had a technorganic harem before and this was actually going to become a new stage in human evolution after all the bugs were worked out, the Paradox Storm that had been triggered by her attempt to manipulate timelines again had kept some elements and shifted others.
Now the Senshi were not and never had been human. Not exactly. They were bioroid soldiers from the ancient land of El Hazzard.
Serenity and her followers were people who had been rifted out of their home universe by a device known as The Eye Of God and ended up here with scattered other enemies of the land that would one day become Roshtaria.
They ate and drank and breathed and were very humanlike, and very like they had originally been. However they were Ifurita units, or very nearly so - units built before Ifurita and with different parameters.
Others had formed their own countries, whether they had been from the universe that was El Hazzard or in one of the universes that had been likewise rifted open in the passage.
While fairly hostile, the leaders and (to some extent) peoples of these other groups had realized that Serenity's group were victims as well. One hadn't cared.
This had been the Ancient Evil, the enemy that the others had faced. While everyone had been settling in, there had been a necessary truce between all. Forty years had passed before any action had been taken, and that had lulled many into a false sense of security.
The catpeople had been one of the more peaceful and sedate groups, thousands of years of culture and philosophical evolution. They were hit hard and fast and only a few hundred had escaped the initial attack. By the time they reached sanctuary with the Cold Moon Kingdom, less than a dozen still lived. Those few had left much of their peacefulness behind.
The Enemy had at last been stopped by Serenity and her forces, they had retreated as their lairs and caverns were brought down by the elemental forces of the Senshi as their ground troops were being slaughtered by the remaining heroes and soldiers of the survivors.
While Ranma listened to Saturn recounting of the war, he wondered about an enemy so powerful that the guns and missiles and machines of the technical culture were helpless against them. As was the magic of the magic-wielding culture.
Unfortunately their long stay in the cryogen capsules had been with a few problems. Memories had gaps apparently. Saturn's recount of events was riddled with pauses and uncertainty.
Lids began to swing open on some of the units. Saturn's had come up too quickly, apparently, which was why she still felt weak and had to be supported by Ranma.
As each came out to look over the other survivors and mourn for those who had not made it, Saturn gave descriptions of each.
Mercury, the technically and medically oriented unit.
Venus, the all purpose unit who had been upgraded from a prototype entertainment unit.
Moon, who had some problems with her balance but was potentially the most powerful in magical attacks.
Mars, from some place called the Northern Territories with power over flame.
Jupiter, the thunderer, who had been built specifically for one of the researchers. She had been maid, gardener, and chef to him - but had eventually been brought to full battle readiness and thrown into the combat.
Saturn, the destroyer as she sadly called herself. Unlike any of the others, there had never been a peacetime role for her.
Uranus, the speed unit where Jupiter was strength. Uranus had apparently developed a number of skills but had not been up to the standards on anything except racing.
Neptune, who had been rebuilt once as during battle she had fallen into the ocean and required extensive repairs upon being hauled out.
Pluto, the unit considered most likely to break down. She had been built as a guard unit and had spent several years in private employ of such roles. She could teleport, something none of the other units could do, and had a number of other functions.
Ranma nodded, that Pluto gal looked like she wasn't quite playing with a full deck.
To Pluto this was all so wrong.
No, they weren't Ranma's harem. As Ranma was the descendent, however distantly, of Queen Serenity - he was their Prince.
Protocols were in place, security measures put in there by their builders to prevent them turning against the Royal Family. Serenity's orders had put them under Ranma's care.
Some of the others who had survived the ages had also been members of that harem that Setsuna had been so anxious to avoid, though in the rewritten past these were instead surviving soldiers and heroes of the battles in the past. Essentially they were under Ranma's command due to Serenity's instructions, but how far they would follow him was questionable.
From the felinoids, a partial bioroid named Nuku Nuku. Seeing the sad faced warrior catgirl, Pluto felt an urge to go lay comfort on the cyborg. In the new past she had been the adopted sister of Ryunosuke, his playmate and guardian. Only to fail that guarding and to see him die. She had followed her last orders, to go to Serenity's Cold Moon Kingdom and assist her. After the battle was finally won, where would she go?
There was Honey. A full bioroid shapeshifter, champion of her own people's technologies, a former policegirl and secret agent who had sworn at the last battle to protect Serenity and the others to the best of her ability.
There were others of course, some of whom had been in Ranma's harem, some who had not but might have eventually ended up there. Missing were those of Nerima and Ranma's past that had gotten converted. There was no Ryuu Kumon, Ryoga Hibiki, or the fiancees in her memory. They would likely remain essentially as they had been prior to the wish that had started the whole mess. Which could be a problem in and of itself.
Pluto found herself staring at one of the non-Senshi, whom her memories told her was:
